OverviewChief Financial Officer (CFO) – Location: Community Hospital – Western Colorado (On-site)Community Hospital, a growing, independent, not-for-profit hospital in Western Colorado, is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team. Our team is passionate about improving the health and well-being of our community, and we are seeking a CFO who shares these values and is eager to lead with integrity, vision, and collaboration.Position OverviewThe Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the strategic leadership and management of all financial operations of Community Hospital. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the CFO serves as a key advisor to the executive team and Board of Trustees. The CFO will oversee financial planning, budgeting, revenue cycle, accounting, materials management/supply chain and financial compliance, ensuring the long-term financial sustainability and growth of the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic financial leadership, aligning financial goals with the hospital’s mission and strategic plan.Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including full revenue cycle oversight, financial services, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, materials management, supply chain, and the hospital charge master.Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and strong internal controls.Direct the development, maintenance, and optimization of the hospital’s charge master to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with reimbursement strategies.Collaborate with leadership to evaluate service lines, growth opportunities, and capital projects.Partner with department leaders to provide financial insight and support data-driven decision-making.Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, auditors, and financial institutions.Lead and mentor the finance, financial services, materials management, and supply chain teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.QualificationsMaster’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.CPA, CHFP, or FHFMA certification strongly preferred.Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive financial leadership experience in healthcare, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.Demonstrated expertise in hospital/health system finance, including revenue cycle, reimbursement, and payer contracting.Strong analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills.Ability to foster collaboration across teams and work effectively with a governing pensation & BenefitsSalary Range: $300,000 – $350,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)Comprehensive benefits package including:Medical, dental, and vision coverageRetirement plan with employer matchGenerous paid time off (PTO) and extended leave benefitsLife and disability insuranceEmployee wellness programsTuition reimbursement and professional development opportunitiesRelocation assistance for qualified candidatesWhy Join Us?Impact: Be part of a leadership team that values independence, innovation, and community-focused healthcare.Lifestyle: Live and work in Western Colorado, surrounded by mountains, rivers, and outdoor recreation year-round.Culture: Join a team committed to excellence, collaboration, and delivering outstanding patient care.Growth: Help shape the future of a thriving hospital positioned for strategic expansion and long-term success.Application ProcessQualified candidates are invited to apply with a cover letter and resume.
