The phrase “this is how we’ve always done it” is banned here at goodr, so don’t be afraid to push out of your comfort zone and encourage your team to do the sameROLE SPECIFICOwn the strategic financial roadmap, aligning planning efforts with long-term business objectives and growth prioritiesManage the preparation, accuracy, and delivery of all internal and external financial reportingProvide clear insights into business performance and key financial metricsPartner with executive leadership to interpret financial results and support strategic decision-makingEnsure full compliance with all financial regulations, accounting standards, and statutory requirements across jurisdictionsOversee cash flow management, working capital strategy, and liquidity planning to ensure financial health and flexibilityManage external audits and maintain strong internal controls to support accurate, timely reportingOversee all required tax (direct and indirect) reportingLead company-wide budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning in collaboration with department leadersOversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and management reporting directivesDevelop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure efficient and effective financial operationsOversee all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, inventory, fixed assets, revenue recognition, and treasury operationsLead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvementOversee and manage tax compliance by ensuring accurate and timely filing of tax returnsEvaluate and improve finance systems, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency, scalability, and data integrityIdentify and assess financial risks and opportunities, providing proactive recommendations to mitigate exposureProvide financial modeling and scenario planning for key initiatives, M&A opportunities, and capital allocation decisionsDeliver high-impact executive presentations and board-level reportingBuild and manage a high-performing team while partnering across functions to ensure financial alignmentThis role is in the Money department and will report directly to the Chief Financial OfficerPerform other related duties as assignedAbout The Ideal CandidateMay or may not have a degree...we don’t care (bonus points for Basset Hound Science or Dinosaur Law)Asks a lot of questions12+ years of managerial experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership roleDeep understanding of both financial & accounting principlesAbility to develop financial strategies that align with company goalsEffectively communicating financial information to senior managementMUST be an FP&A guruExpert level in Microsoft ExcelFamiliarity with financial systems (we use Netsuite!)Proven experience leading financial reporting, budgeting/forecasting, and long-range planningStrong understanding of GAAP, regulatory compliance, and internal control frameworksFreakin’ awesome communicator and direction giverHas an in-depth understanding of team dynamicsExperience in a scaling or high-growth environmentSolid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skillsLoves the work more than a paycheckLoves to create order out of chaosIs happy to give away credit to their teamLoves getting and giving feedbackIs into personal growthThinks Fun is being great (not partying)Is proactive and an independent problem solver!
