This classification acts as a project manager and is distinguished by its role in providing technical guidance to assigned investigative teams comprised of sworn personnel. Positions are responsible for providing independent and objective reviews and assessments of the organization's law enforcement investigative operations, practices, policies and procedures, focusing on high-risk areas and its compliance to policies and procedures; determining whether internal controls are adequate to address inherent risks within administrative and operational processes to comply with applicable laws, policies, procedures, and professional standards.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSA Bachelor's degree* from an accredited college or university ANDeither:OPTION I: Two years of auditing experience in law enforcement operations conducting performance, compliance, operations, or program audits in accordance with professional auditing standards in a law enforcement agency.OPTION II: Three years of professional auditing experience, with a high degree of independence and knowledge, in a governmental agency conducting complex management, performance, financial, and compliance audits according to professional auditing standards.ALL APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS AT THE TIME OF FILING IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS EXAMINATION.LICENSEA valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.PHYSICAL CLASSPhysical Class II - Light: This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10 pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting.
