We’ve helped make safety a priority for waterfront employers for 28 years — and we’re determined to help our insureds continually reduce risks for the benefit of their employees and our industry as a whole.Position SummaryThe Loss Control Manager (LCM) at AEU is responsible for delivering comprehensive loss control services, including safety training, consultative support, and technical resources to AEU customers. This position reinforces the value and commitment AEU delivers to its insured companies by supporting the development and improvement of their safety cultures through targeted loss control initiatives, while clearly conveying the benefits of effective and sustainable safety programs.Qualified candidates should possess a minimum of five years of experience in safety management with a demonstrated ability to design and execute impactful safety strategies. A bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or a related field is required. This position may be performed remotely and is ideally based near a U.S. port city to support regional accessibility.This position reports to the SVP, Director of Loss ControlPrimary ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with insured companies to strengthen their safety programs through data analysis, regulatory guidance, program evaluation, and strategic recommendationsAnalyze incident trends and conduct loss control audits to identify risks and propose effective solutionsProvide guidance on compliance with federal and state safety regulationsSupport clients with practical resources, including written safety programs, best practice documents, and tailored training materialsAssess the effectiveness of existing safety management systems and offer feedback to company leadershipCommunicate the value of a strong safety culture to both current and prospective clientsPrepare internal reports that summarize each insured’s approach to loss control for underwriting reviewDevelop and deliver professional presentations that educate and engage audiences of varying sizesRepresent AEU at internal meetings and external events by presenting on key safety topics at conferences and industry forumsQualifications And CompetenciesMinimum of five years of demonstrated experience in safety management, with a strong understanding of effective safety strategies and implementationBachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, or a related fieldStrong interpersonal and relationship-building skillsAbility to communicate ideas, solutions, and technical concepts clearly and diplomatically to insurance brokers, insured companies, and internal departmental teamsEffective team collaborator who can connect loss control observations and recommendations to the broader strategic goals of both AEU and its insuredsProficient in standard business software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and email systemsWillingness to travel moderately with the ability to travel extensively when requiredWORKING ENVIRONMENTNamed one of the Best Companies to Work for in Alabama for five years straightCollaborative, positive, and engaging company cultureStrong tradition of corporate charitable promotion #J-18808-Ljbffr
