(NYSE: UHS) has built an impressive record of achievement and performance. UHS is recruiting for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at McAllen Medical Center in McAllen, TX. McAllen Medical Center is a full-service acute care facility with a history dating back to 1919 through predecessors, and joined UHS in 1985. The hospital has historically offered services such as open-heart surgery, one-day cardiac catheterization and magnetic resonance imaging.Key organizational highlightsOnly Comprehensive Stroke Center in Hidalgo CountyAccredited as Cycle III Chest Pain CenterAdvanced Level I Trauma Center for the regionService area veterans and regional recognition awardsThe CFO job responsibilities will include:Maximize hospital financial performance. Analyze profitability of existing hospital operations, product lines, contractual agreements, etc., and make improvement recommendations. Act as a change agent to reduce expenses and variation in organization/processes. Use metrics to target overall hospital improvement in operations and finance.Participate in the hospital financial reporting process. Supervise the preparation of reports outlining the hospital’s financial position and operating profit and loss.Participate in the preparation and timely filing of federal, state, hospital association, third-party, and other financial reports as required.Develop employees through appropriate management practices, establish direction, coach employees, provide feedback, and build commitment to achieve high performance.This opportunity offers the following:Competitive compensationExcellent medical, dental, vision and prescription planGenerous paid time offChallenging and rewarding work environment401(k) retirement plan with company matchRelocation benefitsQualificationsJob Requirements:Working knowledge of GAAP, Medicare and Medicaid regulations, and federal and local tax regulations; knowledge of business office operations from registration through discharge and terminal resolution of the patient bill; knowledge of managed care and payer processes and agreements, including terms for negotiation; ability to prepare financial statements and operating reports reflecting performance.Skill at interpreting financial analysis, preparing schedules and reports, using source data, and compiling reports from others’ schedules; proficiency with electronic spreadsheets and database tools; ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and a minimum of 10 years of progressive financial experience, preferably with a healthcare organization. Master’s degree preferred with a minimum of 8 years of progressive financial experience (healthcare strongly preferred).UHS is not accepting unsolicited assistance from search firms for this opportunity.
