Position SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated research professional with approximately three years of experience in commercial real estate research, market analysis, or a related field. This individual will be the primary point person for tracking the leasing market and producing high-quality market reports. Working closely with our brokerage teams, this role is responsible for owning the market reporting process—from data collection to final deliverables—and ensuring our insights help drive business development and client engagement.The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work both independently and collaboratively. This role offers the opportunity to have an immediate impact, shaping how we track market activity, analyze trends, and communicate findings internally and externally.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the creation of quarterly and ad hoc market reports for the Chicago office market, including CBD, suburbs, and all relevant submarkets.Track and analyze leasing activity, tenant movements, vacancy changes, investment sales, and new developments.Manage and maintain internal databases for lease comps, sales comps, tenants-in-the-market, and building inventory.Source, capture, and store statistical data to generate value-add insights and build compelling narratives for internal and external audiences.Work closely with brokers to provide targeted market intelligence for pitches, proposals, and client meetings.Surveil industry and non-industry media for critical stories, actionable intelligence, and emerging trends.Coordinate data collection and verification efforts to ensure accuracy and consistency across all research outputs.Monitor competitive market research capabilities and recommend improvements to tools, processes, and deliverables.Maintain and update broker contact lists for marketing purposes and events.Track large vacancy increases, leasing agent changes, and notable market shifts that may signal opportunities.Research and recommend new data sources, software, and subscriptions to enhance market tracking capabilities.Assist in training brokers, interns, and staff on research tools and data management best practices.Maintain a reference library of periodicals, publications, software tools, maps, and property brochures.Execute web-based research to capture pertinent market, regional, and national trends impacting commercial real estate.Support the development of an annual research business plan in collaboration with leadership.Ensure compliance with company and corporate mandates for market data reporting.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in economics, real estate, finance, urban planning, business administration, or related field.Approximately 3 years of professional experience in commercial real estate research, market analysis, or a similar data-driven role.Strong skills in data collection, management, and analysis, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Familiarity with CRE data platforms (e.g., CoStar, CompStak, RCA/MSCI) preferred.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives.Highly organized, able to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced fortable presenting findings to internal stakeholders and external clients.Able to work with confidential information and maintain pensation$85,000-$100,000 + bonus401(k) matchingAD&D & LTD insuranceHealth insuranceVision insuranceHealth savings accountPaid time offAbout Bradford AllenBradford Allen is a Chicago-based, national commercial real estate firm that offers a full array of brokerage services to entrepreneurial, not-for-profit, and corporate business entities.
