Overview Odyssey Systems is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager to lead and mentor a critical team responsible for overseeing the financial planning, analysis, and operational execution of government service contracts. This role requires a strong blend of financial acumen, contract management expertise, and leadership skills to ensure optimal performance, compliance, and strategic insight across a large and complex portfolio. The successful candidate will drive financial health, foster strong client relationships, and ensure the seamless execution of day-to-day operations, with an emphasis on process development, documentation, and training initiatives for the team. Responsibilities Guide the team in applying advanced financial and accounting principles to provide executive leadership with accurate and reliable analysis, offering deep insights into operational trends and performance. Direct the team's efforts in preparing and delivering comprehensive monthly internal financial reporting and forecasting to senior leadership. Facilitate the team's participation in monthly and quarterly financial analysis reviews with corporate leadership, including the development of presentation materials for leadership review. Manage the team's oversight of monthly contract deliverables, ensuring proactive engagement with Operations leadership to discuss and review performance. Direct the team in conducting in-depth financial and operational analysis to provide critical insights and actionable recommendations regarding cost, schedule, and performance execution for the contract portfolio, including current and prior contracts in preparation for closeout. Ensure the team maintains comprehensive insight into portfolio financial and manpower execution and projections, coordinating with Government, Odyssey, and Subcontractor points of contact to ensure accurate and timely submission of hours, financial reports, and invoices. Guide the team in delivering informational reports, detailed analyses, and guidance regarding employee and subcontractor utilization of hours, travel, and funding execution to Odyssey program and functional managers. Empower the team to leverage contract, accounting, and financial management expertise to assist managers with day-to-day operations. Collaborate with Odyssey managers to ensure optimal employee hour usage in strict accordance with contract requirements. Maintain clear visibility into Odyssey and subcontractor expenditures and funding balances, and communicate funding requirements to internal and external stakeholders in a timely fashion. Identify opportunities for process improvement within financial reporting, contract execution, and operational workflows and design, develop, and implement new processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for key financial and operational processes, policies, and procedures, ensuring they are current, accessible, and compliant with regulatory requirements. Design and deliver training programs and materials to internal teams (e.g., program managers, finance analysts) on financial management best practices, contract compliance, and new operational processes. Update and maintain a complex funding execution and forecasting model, ensuring its integrity and reliability. Regularly assess funding health to projects and ensure appropriate funding levels to support all contract requirements. Communicate funding needs to internal and external stakeholders to expedite funding transactions necessary for continuity of operations. Lead routine meetings with Government counterparts to review reports, invoices, and contract deliverables, provide detailed explanations, identify risks or issues, and alert to potential deviations. Qualifications Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Clearance: Ability to obtain Secret DoD Clearance Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, contract management, or program management, with at least 3–5 years in a direct team leadership or management role Proven government contracts experience and strong understanding of FAR and CAS Financial modeling, forecasting, and reporting Leadership experience in process development, optimization, and implementation within a financial or operational context Ability to lead teams in creating clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation for complex processes Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal teams, government clients, and subcontractors Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, particularly CostPoint, Chrome River, and UKG Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of mentoring, developing, and empowering team members Additional Information Location: Wakefield, MA (preferred); other possible locations include Dayton, OH; Fairfax, VA; Huntsville, AL Remote, onsite, or hybrid: Hybrid, three days per week in the office Company Overview Odyssey Systems is a world-class technical, engineering, and integration company serving the warfighting ecosystem with airborne integration, ISR, C2, and warfighter readiness capabilities.
