OverviewDirector of Finance - The American Hotel role at Valor Hospitality Partners. The American Hotel Atlanta, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is a landmark property in downtown Atlanta with 315 rooms and nearly 20,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. The property is located near Centennial Olympic Park, the Georgia World Congress Center, State Farm Arena, and Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Join to apply for the Director of Finance at The American Hotel and contribute to a dynamic, urban hospitality environment in one of the Southeast’s most exciting cities.ResponsibilitiesSupports General Manager in the achievement of financial goals by direct oversightSupervises and prepares accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reportsWorks closely with Valor Hospitality corporate accounting team to ensure timely reporting and consistencyEnsures balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly and supported by appropriate documentation in accordance with Valor standard operating proceduresMust be willing to “roll up the sleeves” to ensure the work gets doneAnalyzes available information (financial data, customer data, market trends, etc.) and utilizes the information to achieve financial goals and a competitive edgeLeads the creation of accurate forecasts, annual budgets and business plansAdministers banking arrangements and leads the preparation of the annual budgets; prepares monthly financial statements, financial packages, and other informational reports/analysisEstablishes and reinforces a system of effective accounting and operational controls; manages all accounting operations including A/R, A/P, and GLMonitors and confirms financial condition by conducting periodic internal audits and ensures effective management of cash flowEnsures adequate controls are installed and maintained for the protection of the organization’s financial assets against loss or misappropriationCoordinates and prepares for external auditsMaintains a strong accounting and operating control environment to safeguard assets, improve operations and maximize profitability by conducting periodic audits and assessments of areas of riskParticipates in sales and revenue strategy meetings to drive top line revenueMonitors daily operations to ensure taxes are current, collected, accrued and processedDevelops property team members’ business acumen regarding revenue growth, labor productivity, expense reduction, inventory control and overall understanding of the income statement and cash flowUses interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence and encourage othersUnderstands and meets the needs of key stakeholders (owners, company, guests, investors, team members)Attends meetings and communicates with owners with an understanding of global priorities and a strategic focusParticipates in the training and ongoing continuing education of direct reportsSeeks knowledge of and compliance with applicable Franchise and Management AgreementsReviews and monitors contracts with property vendors; participates in contract negotiation when possibleEnsures compliance with all applicable local laws and proceduresPerforms additional duties as necessary and assignedRequired Skills And AbilitiesAbility to perform critical analysis and manage a wide range of informationStrong management skills, technical accounting expertise, and exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAdvanced knowledge of finance and hospitality principles and practices; experience managing people and complex problemsAbility to investigate and analyze current activities or information and provide logical conclusions and recommendations; ability to make decisions based on established policies and procedures; excellent oral, written, listening and presentation skillsBenefits PackageCompetitive SalaryDaily PayTeam Member Hotel Discount ProgramUniforms Provided for most positionsHealth, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and other supplemental optionsPaid PTO401k with employer matchFood and Beverage DiscountsTuition ReimbursementPlease visit to learn more about our hotels and opportunities. #J-18808-Ljbffr
