Job TitleFinancial Analyst IVJob SummaryThe Financial Analyst IV is a critical member of the Psychiatry Financial Services Team and plays a crucial role in the overall successful support and management of funding for the Faculty & Principal Investigators (PIs) within the Department of Psychiatry and in providing project management and directional support for finance team members. The Financial Analyst IV independently provides broad analytical fund management for a group of Faculty and supports complex budget, financial, or resource analyses for the department and its components. The role includes direct supervision of two financial analysts in post-award management. The individual will provide high-quality, efficient, responsive, and responsible financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and administration services.The Financial Analyst IV relies on strong communication skills to present and discuss data and reports with client groups, including staff, PIs, and Department Leadership. The candidate will research, interpret, clarify, and apply applicable Departmental, University, and Agency policies and regulations, and clearly communicate the complexities of these policies. This position requires a high level of ethics and professional standards to handle sensitive matters with tact and sound judgment. The role involves advanced independent portfolio management and leads organizational programmatic management, including developing and recommending internal policies and procedural changes; training and direct supervision of staff; and developing standard operating procedures. This is a hybrid-remote position with 4 on-site days and 1 remote workday.The final salary and offer components are subject to UC policy. Placement within the salary range depends on factors including work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range follows the collective bargaining agreement.
