Curry Constructions, Inc. is looking to fill the position of Chief Financial Officer to oversee our Accounting Department. This position will primarily collaborate with owners of the company and direct the financial and business affairs of the entity. This will include accounting, financial reporting, financial operations, cash management, contract management and financial planning. The Chief Financial Officer will report directly to the owners.Job SummaryThe Chief Financial Officer plays a crucial role in overseeing the financial activities and operations of the organization. This role involves managing the accounting team, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to the company/'s leadership. The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial data, implementing internal controls, and contributing to the overall financial health and success of the organization.Job ResponsibilitiesOversee the Accounting Department and team membersCollaborate with management to identify desired financial information to be reported on a consistent basis.Review and oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.Review and oversee the preparation of contract schedules noting jobs in process and jobs completed and ensuring the accuracy of the financial information contained in these schedules.Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data by reviewing the reconciliation of accounts and helping to identify and then direct the resolution of discrepancies, while working with other members of the Accounting Department.Support the timely and accurate reporting of financial information to management, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.Assist in maintaining internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulations and accounting standards.Lead the audit process and provide necessary documentation and support to external auditors.Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and assist in implementing necessary adjustments.Work closely with the accounting team to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and maintain accurate financial records.Collaborate with other departments to address financial issues, provide support, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.Manage cash flow and liquidity to ensure the company/'s financial stability.Oversee out of State taxes and reporting and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.Oversee business taxes and reporting and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.Oversee out of state licensing and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.Oversee accounting for related entities of the company.Key Competencies and SkillsProficiency in financial analysis, reporting, and modeling.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data analysis and reporting.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies.Ability to lead a team and introduce new processes or opportunities for efficiencyAbility to identify and resolve problem situations consistent with the needs and values of the CompanyEducation and Experience10+ years of accounting work experienceBachelor/'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.Previous experience in accounting or financial management roles, with a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.Previous experience leading an accounting team or departmentPrevious Controller or CFO level experience preferredCompany InformationGrowing company, with opportunities for advancementBase Salary: $175,000 – Pay is negotiable based on experience.Performance BonusPaid time offMedical benefits401k with up to 3% matchPaid parental leave programOpportunity to participate in Dave Ramsey Smart Dollar programOffices in Mattoon and Champaign – opportunities to work between officesSeniority levelExecutiveEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionFinance and SalesIndustriesConstruction #J-18808-Ljbffr
