As a Tax Senior, you’ll assist with multiple tax engagements and contribute to the delivery of quality tax planning and compliance services for our financial services clients. You’ll be part of a rapidly growing team with recent expansion and aims to double in size over the next few years. You can expect to develop your tax technical skills, management techniques, and business experience with support from mentors and training programs.Your key responsibilitiesYou'll spend time on a diverse array of projects and tasks. You’ll provide up-to-date state and local tax advice and implement your knowledge of SALT concepts and law. You’ll work in a highly collaborative culture, listening to and sharing information with colleagues as an essential part of the role.Skills and attributes for successContributing to the overall success of the team by understanding EY methodologies and tools to enhance service deliveryChallenging traditional procedures and finding new approaches to provide tax servicesProviding compliance work product and assisting management with client deliverablesBuilding client relationships and demonstrating knowledge of the financial services industryStaying abreast of state & local tax developments and developing new and innovative service offeringsQualificationsBachelor’s degree with emphasis in accounting, finance, or economics and 3 years of related work experienceCPA or licensed Attorney, or ability to achieve either certificationStrong tax technical skills and experience in tax research and writing, income and franchise taxes and transfer taxesCompliance skills related to multi-state jurisdictionsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsWillingness to travel as needed, and working in a balanced hybrid environmentIdeally, you’ll also haveExperience in a professional services environmentWhat we look forWe’re interested in people with initiative who are not afraid to speak up, with a genuine desire to service clients in the financial services industry focusing on state and local taxes.
