If you're driven by the passion to change lives, this is the place for you.Job SummaryThis position is responsible for the implementation and administration of the risk financing and insurance program for the entire corporation, including the diversified portfolio of subsidiaries engaged in electric generation; electric, gas, steam and water distribution; pump manufacturing and other non-utility businesses.Job ResponsibilitiesIdentify, analyze, and evaluate risk exposures to the corporationSelect, recommend and implement appropriate cost-effective solutions for managing identified risk exposures using appropriate risk financing, risk transfer and risk control techniques; preparing and presenting recommendations to the Treasurer, CFO or Office of the Chairman as appropriateManage the procurement, renewal, and record keeping of all corporate insuranceManage the underwriting information collection, maintenance and submittal processManage the coordination between the corporate master insurance program and the underlying primary insurance coveragesMonitor policy terms and market conditions making necessary adjustments to the policies or program when necessaryDevelop and monitor the premium allocation schedules; and assist in the preparation of the utility insurance budgetNegotiate and settle insurance claimsManage broker and agent relationships, negotiating the level of service and associated fees, and documenting the agreed upon terms and conditions with service agreementsManage insurer relationships, including underwriting, claims and loss controlReview and provide input on contracts and agreements being considered by the corporationProvide risk management and insurance advice on major projects undertaken by the corporationManage the procurement of surety bonds and the issuance of certificates of insuranceConduct risk management due diligence reviews on proposed mergers and acquisitionsProvide insurance related budget input across the corporationAssist business units and subsidiaries in addressing specific issues with brokers and insurersDevelop and conduct risk management related employee training as requestedAssist in procuring insurance for joint ventures when necessaryInsurance Risk Management ProgramIdentify, analyze, and evaluate corporate risk exposures & implement appropriate management solutionsManage the procurement, renewal, and record keeping of all corporate insuranceManage the corporate claims process in coordination with Legal, HR and AccountingCoordinate with legal counsel to negotiate and settle corporate insurance claimsManage insurer and broker relationshipsManage the corporate insurance budgetMinimum QualificationsBachelors Degree in Business or related discipline5-10+ years experience in the insurance risk management process preferably for a large similar industryApplied knowledge of insurance and risk management principles and accountingExperience in all major commercial property and casualty insurance coverage in both the primary and excess layersStrong communication, judgment, computer & technology, problem solving, negotiating, planning and organizing skills are necessaryMust exhibit the ability to make decisions without all the facts, set priorities and address emergent issues, meet deadlines, understand the direction and needs of the corporation, and support and defend decisionsMust be comfortable operating in an environment with a wide degree of ambiguity and latitudePreferred QualificationsExperience in:MBA or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation or equivalentAssociate in Risk Management (ARM) designationAccounting/FinanceCounterpart credit riskInvested funds (pension, OBEP & 401K) oversightMangement of company investmentsEnd Date: 06/27/2025Pay Range Minimum: $117,004.94Pay Range Maximum: $190,133.06The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.
