This role offers a hybrid work model with competitive compensation and bonus potential.About The RoleThe Tax Manager will lead special projects and strategic initiatives within the tax function. We're looking for a versatile accountant with strong investment securities experience who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment. This is an opportunity for someone excited about transformation and continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor and ensure the accuracy and performance of tax data related to securities tracked in a complex investment accounting platform.Participate in daily operational governance meetings focused on investment data integrity and system enhancements.Support testing and implementation of software upgrades to maintain system accuracy and performance.Ensure tax basis accuracy for investment assets and manage exception handling.Analyze and reconcile differences between tax, GAAP, and Statutory accounting treatments.Review new investment transactions (securities, partnerships, derivatives) for proper tax treatment and operational efficiency.Execute and improve tax internal controls related to investments.Reconcile deferred tax balances for investment portfolios in coordination with tax operations.Assist with analyses such as wash sales and taxable vs. non-taxable exchanges.Support tax planning strategies involving investments and ensure correct tax amortization of structured securities.Stay informed of relevant tax law changes impacting investments.Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities using technology and data tools.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.8+ years of tax experience, preferably in public accounting or financial services.Master’s degree in Taxation and/or CPA is a plus.Strong technical knowledge of tax codes, GAAP (ASC 740), and Statutory Accounting Principles.Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Alteryx) and data-driven environments.Familiarity with investment systems platforms and ERP-tax system interfaces.Knowledge of tax treatments for various investment types.Advanced Excel skills and experience analyzing data and reports.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Broad understanding of corporate tax compliance, reporting, and audit considerations.Experience with international tax issues (e.g., PFICs, CFCs, foreign partnerships).Proven experience managing large-scale tax or finance projects (e.g., ERP implementations, finance transformations).Working knowledge of SAP and project management best practices.Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a changing environment.Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid)Salary: $110,000 - $147,500 + 20% bonus #J-18808-Ljbffr
