If you are a highly skilled business professional who can develop and communicate financial information and forecasts, we want to hear from you.As a Director, you will contribute to the effective management of Nationwide's portfolio investment through results, people and personal performance categories. You will provide financial, informational, administrative, advisory and analytical services to senior leaders relative to the coordination and management of the transformation project/program portfolio. You will develop and implement portfolio performance measures, and track, analyze and communicate portfolio risk and performance.Key ResponsibilitiesMakes effective decisions in a timely manner with a view toward how these decisions fit into a broader framework across the organization; seeks to make decisions with clear understanding of overall impact to the municates a logical view of different business options in a way that helps others understand and feel how business outcomes will be different as a result of the project/decision. Seeks to present alternative options to highlight the thought process employed to arrive at selected recommendation.Helps others think about their work from a different angle; sets the bar high and challenges everyone he/she works with to take their efforts to the next level.Reaches out across functional areas and teams to cultivate collaboration and sharing of viewpoints; encourages team members to seek opportunities to engage with each other to improve their learning across the team.Pushes for answers to solve for the root cause of a problem; weighs relevance and accuracy of information while challenging the team to seek out new sources of information to use in decision-making.Shows ability to generate and evaluate alternatives to get to a recommended solution for the organization; offers suggestions to senior leaders that highlight new methods for approaching problems.Shows consideration for future consequences and trends; demonstrates forward thinking point of view in discussions.Keeps informed of new methods and technologies that will impact and improve the work of the team; uses new techniques/tools to uplift the team's skills.Navigates change effectively and makes logical recommendations to tackle problems even with partial or imperfect information; maintains productivity and poise even during times of uncertainty.Works to build knowledge of organizational depth and breadth to drive outstanding results across varied strengths and skill sets.May perform other responsibilities as assigned.Reporting RelationshipsReports to Vice President/Officer. Manages a team of four or more financial professionals.QualificationsEducation: Undergraduate studies in finance, economics, accounting or statistics; advanced degree in a financial field desired. Technical insurance coursework desirable.License/Certification/Designation: CPA preferred.Experience: Typically, ten or more years of relevant experience related to accounting, finance, insurance or administrative business functions, with at least five years of management experience.Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Advanced knowledge of statistical analysis, financial statement preparation, budgeting and financial analysis techniques, and related business operations. Familiarity with GAAP and statutory accounting practices and insurance/financial services requirements.
