We live our values every day, demonstrating we CARE through our values, Sustainability initiatives and inclusive corporate culture.Our Personal Lines department is currently seeking a State Management Analyst out of our Howell, MI or Worcester, MA office.This is a full time, exempt role.OverviewThe position provides data analysis, problem-solving, and project leadership to support a team of State Managers and help them reach their strategic goals in a region, with limited oversight, responsible for gathering, compiling, maintaining and reporting financial data. Participates in project work as requested, prepares standard reporting and adhoc reporting as requested.Responsibilities / Essential FunctionsPerforms analysis and provides recommendations to State Management.Provide rate revision support, including attending meetings, completing checklists, resolving issues, completing analyses, reviewing filing.Review competitor filings and collect input from the field about competitor changes. Consolidate for entry in monthly report.Review monthly Profit & Loss statements and other monthly reports, working with State Managers, to identify root causes for variances and emerging trends (e.g. loss ratio was 10 points higher than expected due to 5 large losses that added $2 M to our incurred loss total amount for the month).Monitor and report on progress toward financial goals (Growth, CR, LR, Retention). Update rolling 18-month forecast on a regular basis.Identify trends and changes needed to ensure profitable growth.Work with State Managers to implement state-specific strategies to meet or exceed profit and growth targets.Monitor financial results, quoting activity, and conversion rate.Update 18-month forecast on a monthly basis and share with Finance, Underwriting, and municates results effectively and in a professional manner.Understand how source data impacts reporting and analysisCoordinate and facilitate communication across plete ad hoc requests for the State Managers in a timely fashion.Effectively manage time and multiple priorities.Required Skills / Key Competencies and ExperienceTypically has 2 to 5 years related experience and Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.Knows and applies broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of particular field of specialization to the completion of moderately difficult assignmentsData CompilationAnalysis & InterpretationData IntegrityPlanning & ForecastingReportingOrganizational, Industry & Business KnowledgeManaging Complex Business ActivitiesProject ManagementInterpersonal EffectivenessSeniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionAnalystIndustries: InsuranceReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at The Hanover Insurance Group by 2xWe’re unlocking community knowledge in a new way.
