FINANCE DIRECTOR

TheCity of Banning invites experienced municipal finance leaders to step into a pivotal role during a transformative time. It needs a Finance Director who thrives in complexity and brings both operational excellence and a calm, trusted presence. As Finance Director, you will serve as the City’s Chief Financial Officer, overseeing Fiscal Services in a full-service municipality with General Fund, enterprise funds, and a municipally operated electric utility. The City is also preparing for strategic IT upgrades that will enhance financial transparency, customer service, and internal performance. The next Finance Director will play a critical role in integrating financial leadership with digital modernization. This is more than a financial management position—it is an opportunity to restore confidence, strengthen operational consistency, and guide a community back to fiscal resilience.This department is in need of a steady and approachable leader. Recent years have brought considerable turnover at all levels and forensic audits (with no evidence of fraud but with process breakdowns).
