Let's grow together!Role OverviewThe Controller position owns all accounting functions at our clients and will be responsible for issuing client financial statements, including thoughtful and value-added fluctuation analyses, developing financial models, and managing departmental budgets and forecasts. The Controller also manages Attivo staff to own full-cycle month-end close, accounts receivable and payable, payroll, and tax compliance. Experience with developing financial models from the ground up and establishing policies and procedures within a corporation is highly preferred. The ideal candidate has worked at or with early-stage start-ups and has a passion for helping companies scale and grow.The position location is flexible/work from home, with preference given to candidates in the following cities where Attivo has an employee presence: San Francisco/Bay Area, Los Angeles/Southern California, New York City, Austin, and Boston. Candidates in other locations welcome to apply. Some travel to in-person company events is required, approximately 2-3 weeks out of the year. In-person onboarding training will take place within the first 3 months of employment (locations vary).ResponsibilitiesManage all general accounting functions which includes performing month-end close process, eliminations & consolidations, preparing and booking journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analysisPrepare monthly consolidated client financials including fluctuation analysis and budget vs actual comparisonsSet client accounting & tax policiesDefine & implement ASC 606 revenue recognition policiesDirect activities related to efficient customer cash collection and vendor payments and overall cash management and cash forecastingBuild financial models to help clients manage cash and make intelligent and proactive operational decisionsAnalyze company operations to identify operational and cost efficiencies and implement solutionsCreate and manage KPI DashboardsManage general HR responsibilities, including payroll, processing employee onboarding & offboarding, and benefits managementOversee client tax-related matters to ensure timely complianceLead annual financial audits, as requiredManage and mentor accounting teams across all clientsRequirementsDesire to work side by side with a variety of CFOs and want mentorshipAdvanced+ Excel skillsExperience with standard software solutions: QuickBooks Online, Xero, Netsuite, , Gusto, Expensify, CartaExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesIndependent judgment and decision-makingAbility to manage multiple projects/priorities at a timeProfessional curiosity & creativityPassionate desire to learn & for continuous improvementEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. The starting salary range for Controller is approximately $160,000 to $200,000 per year plus bonus.BenefitsBenefits for full-time employees include: Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance (100% coverage for employees on base plan, 70% coverage for additional family members), participation in Flexible Spending Accounts and 401(k), 3 weeks PTO, voluntary Life Insurance & Disability plans, and work-from-home allowance.
