This individual will play a key role in supporting the company’s advocacy strategy in Washington, D.C., particularly in areas related to technology policy, trade, AI, and export controls. The ideal candidate will bring strong Hill experience, a sharp understanding of the legislative process, and a passion for technology policy.Key ResponsibilitiesTrack, analyze, and summarize legislation, committee hearings, bill markups, and regulatory developments relevant to the company’s interests.Represent the company at stakeholder convenings, coalition meetings, public forums, and policy-related events.Cultivate and maintain relationships with Congressional offices, trade associations, think tanks, and other key stakeholders.Advocate for company policy positions in meetings with Congressional staff and relevant external partners.Edit policy materials, including legislative proposals, internal policy updates, and advocacy talking points for internal stakeholders.Support internal reporting and cross-functional communications on public policy developments.Contribute to the development of proactive policy strategies to advance business goals.Support Directors during Executive fly-ins (e.g. trip logistics and meeting preparation)Preferred ExperienceProgressive years of experience working on Capitol Hill or in a government affairs capacity, with demonstrated knowledge of the legislative process.Proven track record in legislative drafting, analysis, and review.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience corresponding with Congressional and external stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to build and maintain bipartisan relationships with policymakers and staff.Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Self-starter with sound judgment, political acumen, attention to detail, and sense of terest or experience in technology policy issues, including AI, industrial policy, trade, tax, or export controls.Familiarity with relevant Congressional committees (e.g., House Energy & Commerce, Senate Commerce, House Foreign Affairs, Senate Banking, Ways & Means, Senate Finance).Experience engaging with trade associations or multi-stakeholder policy coalitions.PAC experience preferredAcademic CredentialsBachelors degree or higher in related fields such as public affairs, public administration, or a related STEM discipline is a plusFamiliarity with the U.S. Lobby Disclosure Act is preferredBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.
