OverviewSenior Director, Corporate Communications at Kura Oncology leads external communications as part of the investor relations and corporate affairs team. This role focuses on shaping our narrative, elevating our brand, and building trust with key audiences, with emphasis on external, product and pipeline communications to support company growth.We are building a leading biotech organization with a patient-focused mindset and a culture of relentless execution. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated excellence in drug discovery and development and a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude, with integrity and grit driving decisions and actions.ResponsibilitiesManage the development and execution of strategic communications plans and initiatives aligned with corporate goals to build company awareness with key stakeholders and support the businessCollaborate with other functions and external agencies to highlight key milestones, create compelling storylines, drive media coverage, and increase brand awarenessDevelop a comprehensive digital media plan across platforms (social, web, video), create content and design, ensure messaging consistency, measure success, and manage Kura Oncology's social media accountsDraft communications materials, including news releases, Q&A documents, talking points, interview briefs, corporate presentations, social media, website copy and other digital contentDesign and implement an executive thought leadership programCollaborate on pipeline milestones and data readouts; develop and manage crisis communicationsCoordinate with external partner communications, Finance, Marketing, Commercial, Clinical Development, and BD teams to create a unified communications calendar across departmentsQualificationsBachelor's or advanced degree in a related discipline10+ years in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry or public relations agencyDirect experience leading Corporate Communications at a public biopharma company or agencyStrong writing skills in scientific and other formatsAbility to distill scientific information into clear corporate messaging and materials, including press releases and Q&AExperience delivering results in media relations, digital and social media, and pipeline/product communicationsRecognized as an expert and trusted advisor with a proven track record in crafting and executing top-tier corporate communications strategies that yield measurable outcomesExcellent interpersonal skills to interact with all levels and lead cross-functional projectsStrong collaboration, ability to meet deadlines, and ability to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to present ideas clearly and confidently to varied audiencesWillingness and ability to travel periodicallyCompensation and BenefitsThe base salary range for a Senior Director is $265,000 - $300,000 per year. Individual pay may vary based on factors including job-related skills, experience, location, and education. Kura's compensation package also includes generous benefits, equity, and participation in an annual target bonus.Kura Oncology is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on precision medicines for cancer.
