(ESI) seeks an experienced Construction Market Leader to serve the needs of our rapidly growing client base across the United States. This position will be remote in California and serve certain markets where ESI’s clients have operations.About The CompanyESI serves over 361 post-acute care operations across 17 states, including skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and other ancillary service providers. These operations have no corporate headquarters or traditional management hierarchy. Instead, they operate independently with support from the “Service Center,” a world-class service team that provides centralized legal, human resource, training, accounting, information technology and other resources necessary to allow on-site leaders and caregivers to focus on day-to-day care and business issues in their operations.Purpose of Your PositionThe Construction Market Leader is a leadership and mentoring role focused on promoting the "Ensign" culture and overseeing all construction-related activities within your assigned market. You will guide and support Construction Resources (CRs), including those in dual roles, ensuring projects align with company policies, procedures, and all applicable local and state codes and regulations. This role drives ROI discussions for large-scale projects, manages CapEx budgets, and develops comprehensive 5-year preventative maintenance plans for each facility. You will oversee projects from pre-development through completion, focusing on risk analysis, scope development, architectural planning, bidding, and compliance.It is expected that the Construction Market Leader will actively live our Core Values in daily performance. Healthcare construction is a plus.Proven track record of successfully managing complex situations regarding compliance and legal matters.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to identify, analyze, and provide solutions to, but not limited to, healthcare facilities maintenance and safety-related issues.Strong understanding of facilities maintenance, equipment and systems, fire safety, and hazardous conditions that can exist in and around Skilled Nursing and Senior Care facilities.Ability to successfully collaborate with a diverse team of healthcare operators, owners, resources, and vendor partners.Proven ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a team that has both a direct and dotted line to your team.Strong analytical and financial skills.Ability to self-direct and self-start on complex tasks, thrive in a fast-paced working environment, and effectively solve problems while working with a team.Duties And ResponsibilitiesPromote the "Ensign" culture throughout the department and your assigned Construction Market.Lead, develop, guide, and support Construction Resources (CRs), including Dual-Role CRs, within your Construction Market.Conduct annual employee reviews for each employee in your Construction Market, incorporating feedback from both Operations and the Construction Department.Forecast and manage CapEx budgets for Field Markets within your Construction Market on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.Create, manage, and ultimately own the 5-year plan for preventative maintenance within each building and Operations Market in your Construction Market.Lead all new pre-development and/or pre-project activities, including driving discussions centered around ROI, prior to any work being contracted or conducted. Focus on large-scale projects, conducting risk analysis, scope development, architectural plan development, overall bidding process, and code/licensing requirements.Hold regular virtual Market meetings and organize a meaningful yearly in-person Construction Market meeting.Provide oversight on construction projects being run by the CRs, ensuring policies, procedures, and both local and State jurisdiction codes and regulations are being followed.Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting is communicated to the Director of Construction, in addition to the Operation Market Leaders in your Construction Market. Examples include CapEx budgets, project status, and timeline updates.Oversee all new Acquisitions (Due Diligence, Site Visits, and Transitions calls) within your Construction Market.Responsible for the overall performance of projects and team members within your Construction Market, focusing on obtaining the desired results discussed and agreed to prior to commencing with the scope of work.Identify new vendors, products, technologies, suppliers, and external partners for the betterment of services to the field.Working ConditionsTravel required up to 50% of time.Must be able to travel in a car and/or airplane as needed.May work at home or onsite in any areas within a Skilled Nursing and/or Assisted Living facility.Directly interacts with any individual encountered in a Skilled Nursing and/or Assisted Living facility, such as but not limited to employees, residents, visitors, Landlords, and government agency representatives under any conditions and circumstances.May encounter hostile and emotionally upset employees, residents, and visitors.Follows all facility policies and procedures (e.g., infection control) that apply to visitors.Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.Is subject to exposure to infectious and communicable diseases.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesDegree in Construction or Facilities Management or 3+ years of experience in Construction and/or Facilities Project Management required.Experience with performing on-site assessments, budget estimates, and successfully management of project cost information.Ability to develop scopes of work, Request for Proposals (RFPs), select vendors, and monitor projects.Experience managing vendors, ensuring accurate billing and quality of finished products.Strong computer skills (MS Suite office programs including Word & Excel).Experience interfacing with cross-functional internal stakeholders within a multi-department environment.Why Ensign Services Inc.,?At Ensign Services, Inc., we don’t just fill roles—we build careers rooted in purpose, autonomy, and impact.
