Join the V Team Life.What you'll be doing...The Associate Director of Sales will be responsible for providing strategic sales channel leadership across the Grocery, New Business Development, and Airtime Aggregators distribution segments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales leadership, P&L management, and driving growth in retail environments. This role requires a results-driven individual with the ability to mentor and develop a high-performing team while overseeing key aspects of sales forecasting, assortment recommendations, and promotional strategies. This individual will also be responsible for maintaining effective communication with key executives and retail headquarters, requiring occasional travel.Key Responsibilities:Sales Channel Leadership:Lead and drive sales performance across the Grocery, New Business Development, and Airtime Aggregators distribution segments to achieve growth targets.Oversee and manage day-to-day sales operations, ensuring effective channel strategies and execution.P&L Management:Take ownership of P&L for the relevant sales segments, ensuring profitable growth through cost management, margin control, and sales optimization.Retailer Assortment & Recommendations:Provide actionable insights and recommendations related to retailer assortment strategies to maximize sales and improve product availability.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine product assortments and ensure alignment with customer preferences and sales goals.Forecasting Oversight:Manage the forecasting process to ensure accurate sales projections and inventory levels, working closely with supply chain and operations teams.Identify potential risks and opportunities in the forecast to drive proactive adjustments.Executive Updates & Reporting:Prepare and deliver regular updates on sales performance, growth initiatives, and market trends to senior leadership.Provide detailed reports and insights to support strategic decision-making.Promotional Strategy:Develop and implement effective promotional strategies and programs to drive sales and increase market penetration.Monitor the effectiveness of promotions and adjust strategies as needed to achieve desired results.Team Leadership & Development:Lead a team of sales professionals, providing mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities.Conduct performance evaluations and ensure the team is motivated, aligned with company objectives, and performing at a high level.Regular travel to retail headquarters and key customer meetings as needed to foster strong relationships and drive sales this role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days (in-office days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).What we're looking for...You'll need to have:Bachelor's degree or four or more years of experience.Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.Experience in sales management.Willingness to travel approximately up to 25% or lessEven better if you have one or more of the following:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.12+ years of experience in sales management, with a focus on grocery, retail, or similar distribution channels.Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets, P&L management, and sales forecasting.Strong leadership experience, including team development, coaching, and performance management.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage executives and customers effectively.Ability to work cross-functionally with teams such as marketing, operations, and supply chain.Willingness to travel as needed (approximately 20-30% of the time).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead key distribution channels, grow a high-performing team, and drive impactful business results in a dynamic retail environment.Where you’ll be workingIn this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum of eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.Scheduled Weekly Hours40Equal Employment OpportunityVerizon is an equal opportunity employer.
