Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Deputy Planning and Engineering Director to work out of our Sacramento Office .JOB SUMMARY:This role will support planning, sustainability, environmental, and engineering efforts from project conception through construction. Oversees design document consistency and compliance, advises on environmental strategy, and ensures regulatory adherence. Collaborates with Construction and Rail Operations on systems policies, station design, and alignments.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Coordinate with the Authority, Design Builder, PCM teams, and third-party utilities or railroads, attend meetings, review project documents, report on discovered utility/railroad issuesReport on discovered utility/railroad issues and participate in issue resolutionPrepare status reports, maintain tracking log for issues and resolutionsQualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:BA/BS + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Master’s degree in engineering, transportation, or related disciplineProfessional Engineer (PE) licenseExperience with high-speed rail projects in a senior leadership capacityFamiliarity with advanced rail maintenance technologies and sustainable design practicesExperience working in multidisciplinary, multi-stakeholder project environmentsProven expertise in planning and managing large-scale rail maintenance facilitiesStrong understanding of rail vehicle servicing operations and requirementsKnowledge of applicable federal and state regulations, including FRA and California requirementsAbility to prepare comprehensive technical documents and plansExcellent communication, leadership, and project coordination skillsAdditional InformationADDITIONAL INFORMATION:Sponsorship is available for this roleTravel may be required for this roleOffered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
