Senior Electrical Project Engineer/ManagerHazen & Sawyer is seekinga Senior Electrical Project Engineer/Manager for ourBaltimore, MD office. Candidate will provide electrical engineering and design for water and wastewater facility projects, serving as lead electrical engineer. Candidate will support projects both local and regional to the office, as well as supporting projects in other areas as requested by the firm. Successful candidate may be offered the opportunity to become the electrical leader for Hazen offices in the DC, Maryland, Northern Virginia area.Why Hazen and Sawyer:Founded in 1951 by the son of Allen Hazen (developer of the Hazen-Williams equation), we are an employee-owned company with a singular focus on"all things water."Our work includes planning, design, and oversight of construction of environmental infrastructure – for water, wastewater, and stormwater management.We foster a work environment low on bureaucracy and high in creativity.We recruit talented professionals, provide them with challenging, interesting, and creative assignments, and furnish them with the tools they need to succeed.We currently have over 2,000 employees in 70+ offices throughout the United States, Latin America, Canada, and the UK.Our electrical group has over 100 employees spread across more than 30 of our officesKey Responsibilities:Power systems design, including medium and low voltage electrical power distribution, generator design, motor controls, VFDs, lighting systems, equipment layout and related activities at water and wastewater facilitiesPrepare project specifications and edit corporate electrical master specifications as needed to suit each projectServe as the lead electrical engineer on multiple concurrent projects. Ensure the work is performed in accordance with scope, schedule, and budgetPerform site visits as needed from project conceptual design through constructionPerform electrical design work in AutoCAD and/or Revit as required by the projectPerform electrical power system studies in SKM and/or ETAP as required by the projectComplete construction administration tasks including review of shop drawings, replies to requests for information, change order requests and similar tasksPerform factory witness testing of electrical equipment as required by the projectMonitor and participate in the field testing and start-up of electrical systemsRepresent the electrical discipline in client project meetingsInteraction with clients, contractors, and engineers from other disciplinesServe as a technical mentor for less experienced electrical staffAssist in business development activities such as proposal preparation and participation in project interviewsDevelop scope and fee documents for electrical portions of projectsServe as Project Manager for selected electrical projectsSupervise less experienced electrical staff working on projectsPerform QA/QC review of the work completed by others in the Electrical GroupCoordinate with subconsultants (where applicable) and review their work to maintain quality standardsServe as a Subject Matter Expert for selected topic(s) pertinent to the electrical disciplineRequired Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering15 or more years of relevant experience in heavy industrial electrical engineering and designLicensed as a registered professional engineer in at least one of the following:MarylandDistrict of ColumbiaVirginiaAbility to be licensed in additional states at the request of the firmExperience with SKM or ETAP power system softwareExperience with AutoCAD and/or Revit BIM softwareExperience in Microsoft Office productsStrong communication skills allowing for successful interaction with clients, contractors, and other engineersPreferred Qualifications:Experience in the Water/Wastewater industryExperience with Bluebeam software and Bluebeam StudioExperience with instrumentation and control systems including instruments, operator interfaces, and PLCsExperience in leading a team of electrical engineers and designersWhat We Offer:Comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision, and prescription plans)Pre-tax flexible spending plans for medical, dependent care, and transportationShort and long-term disability, and employer paid life insurancePaid holidays, floating holidays, and paid time off (PTO)Employer-contributed 401(k) plan and additional financial planning supportProfessional growth opportunities, including tuition reimbursement, in-house training, and incentives for professional registration and professional organization membershipsStarting pay range for this position depends on skills, experience, education and geographical location #J-18808-Ljbffr
