TRAVEL: Yes, 10% of the Time.OverviewNorthrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a Manager Electronics Engineer 2 – Engineering Architect Lead to join our team in San Diego (Rancho Bernardo), CA. This position will be in our Avionics Integration Organization. The candidate will lead a team of data center architects, drafters, and SMT leads to develop implementation strategy and engineering documentation tracking for upgrading and delivering large data centers. The role requires a self-starter with experience in electronics engineering or equivalent technologies within an Integrated Product Team construct and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.The selected candidate will work full-time on-site at our facility; there is no remote/hybrid option. Up to 10% travel may be required.Responsibilities Manage and oversee a team of architects, engineers, drafters, and SMT leads Provide technical authority for all upgrades and installations Capture project statement of work and requirements for upcoming upgrades and installations Lead the team in developing designs and engineering documentation for upgrades and installations Lead the team in resolving critical issues discovered during upgrades, delivery, or sustaining systems; identify risk, issues, or opportunities as required Support future planning for upgrades and deliveries Oversee procurement of equipment for future upgrades and deliveries Provide proposal input for engineering development aspects of new contracts Attend Technical Review Boards (TRB) and support change requests to ensure incorporation into upgrade planning Establish cost/schedule baselines for engineering development activities Review weekly nameruns for accuracy and provide cost analysis; manage weekly engineering development activity performance Provide monthly ETC updates and EAC adjustments as needed QualificationsBasic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 9 years of related engineering experience; or Master’s degree with 7 years of related engineering experience Experience leading cross-functional technical teams Hands-on experience in electronics engineering, systems engineering, and/or aerospace engineering Ability to work across multiple organizations, locations, and levels to form teams, gain internal support, act with speed, and make tough decisions Experience with project/program management processes including CAM, EVM, RIO, project planning and scheduling, staffing, and oversight of technical work Active DoD Secret clearance (or higher) with ability to obtain/maintain DoD Top Secret clearance Ability to obtain/maintain SAP clearance (SAP may be required prior to employment). Preferred Qualifications Current SAP clearance Experience leading cross-functional teams on complex technical projects across the engineering lifecycle Experience with Agile processes, EVMS, CCBs, and MS Project Experience with datacenter design and/or hardware/software field installations Experience with Engineering Drawings Active DoD 8140 IAT Level II or higher certification (e.g., CCNA Security, Security+CE, CCNP, CISSP) Familiarity with storage systems, networking, Solaris 11, Oracle OEM, Windows Server/Active Directory, VMware ESXi/vCenter Familiarity with IT/documentation tools (Sphinx, Jinja, YAML, REST) and cloud computing systems Salary and BenefitsPrimary Level Salary Range: $156,500.00 - $234,700.00The salary range is a general guideline and may vary based on scope, responsibilities, experience, and market conditions. Depending on the position, overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may apply. Long-term incentives may be available for senior leadership roles.
