CareersBridge Engineer (2-5 Years)Frisco, TexasGarver's Transportation Design Center, an integrated team focused on delivering bridge and structural projects, is seeking a Bridge Engineer for our Frisco, TX office. This position will collaborate with in-house engineers, designers, and technicians to provide technical expertise for successful project delivery and quality design.This Bridge Engineer will perform a wide range of design tasks from basic to complex, including designing bridge components, detailing for plan production, quantity calculation, report preparation, and site inspection.Other responsibilities include:Design and load rating of simple and/or continuous span prestressed bridgesDesign and load rating of simple and/or continuous span steel bridgesDesign of retaining walls and sign support structuresBridge repair and rehabilitation designAs experience is gained, responsibilities may expand into discipline lead or project management roles.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program2-5 years of experienceStrong communication skillsProficiency in MS OfficeRegistered as an Engineer in Training (EIT)Design and detailing experience with prestressed concrete, reinforced concrete, and structural steelExperience with MicroStation, structural analysis, and design softwarePreferred Skills:Master's degree in civil engineering with structural emphasis from an ABET-accredited programLicensed Professional Engineer (PE)Familiarity with AASHTO Bridge Design SpecificationsKnowledge of TxDOT standards and manualsExperience in planning and designing bridgesGrow With UsGarver offers programs such as company-paid memberships, support for industry licenses, and continuing education.
