The Quality Control Engineer will also provide feedback regarding observations and process improvement needs.Essential FunctionsSupports the application of Balfour Beatty’s standard operating procedures at the project.Reviews subcontractors’ work for compliance with specifications, applicable codes, and contract requirements.Conducts inspections, testing, and product evaluations.Provides technical support to the project management team, the Quality Manager, and subcontractors.Supports the implementation and monitoring of corrective and preventive actions.Identifies issues and trends occurring on the projects that may impact the effectiveness of Balfour Beatty to provide quality products and high levels of customer satisfaction.Supports the program of continuous improvement at the project, which effectively measures performance, addresses deficiencies, and prevents recurrence of issues.Maintains appropriate feedback mechanisms that ensure all quality-related information is communicated from the project quality representatives to other members of the project teams throughout the term of the project.Participates in project reviews to assess the application and effectiveness of company standard operating procedures, subcontractor processes, and procedures, and identifies any opportunities for improvement.Analyzes issues, determines root cause, develops and implements corrective and preventive actions, and assesses performance measures against established criteria.Participates in close-out processes to confirm all quality-related issues have been resolved and provides feedback on lessons learned so they can be incorporated in future projects.Promote Customer RelationsBuilds effective relationships with customers, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meet or exceed customer expectations.Actively participates in industry, client, and community relations to enhance company reputation.Culture, Leadership, and Employee DevelopmentPromotes our Creed. Due to daily condition changes on construction projects, when employees are outside of the office trailer or structure, they must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the company's safety policies and as required for weather conditions.The project team and/or team member may need to move to other projected work geographic locations, if necessary.Education, Experience, and KnowledgeBS in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field with 4 to 7 years of experience preferred, or a minimum of 8 years of progressive construction-related trade experience in supervising and inspecting construction.Achievement of industry-related anizes people, tools, and equipment and plans/manages multiple activities to accomplish desired outcomes.Ability to perform in-process inspections and effectively communicate findings.Familiar with electronic data collection and inspection processes.Demonstrates proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools, such as email, internet, and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook).The base compensation for the Quality Engineer position above is $85,000 - $120,000.About usBalfour Beatty US is an industry-leading provider of general contracting, at-risk construction management, and design-build services for public and private sector clients across the nation.
