We have a well-established record of award-winning performance in delivering projects for the United States Department of Defense (DoD).Position OverviewWe are currently seeking a Senior Federal Resources Project Manager – Engineer to join our Hawai‘i-Guam team. This individual will be responsible for managing and delivering high-quality engineering projects for DoD clients, including NAVFAC, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Air Force, and other military and federal agencies. Projects may include the electrical designs for various facilities, substations, transmission and distribution systems, generation and microgrids.ResponsibilitiesLead and manage multidiscipline design teams across various DoD projects throughout the Pacific region.Oversee all phases of project development—from planning and design through construction support—ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.Develop and review scopes of work, cost estimates, and schedules; monitor progress and implement corrective actions as needed.Coordinate internal design activities and manage external subconsultants to meet project objectives.Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring expectations are met or exceeded.Supervise and mentor multiple project teams across geographies; ensure coordination of deliverables and communication between team members.Conduct team meetings to discuss productivity, workload distribution, and quality control.Provide leadership in employee development, including training, performance evaluations, and goal setting.Collaborate with HDR leadership to monitor regional project workload and resource needs.Remain current with changes to applicable codes, standards, and client requirements, and integrate those into project deliverables.Conduct quality control reviews and perform project engineering duties as necessary.QualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering10 years related experienceMinimum 5 years project management experienceProfessional Engineer PE or PEng licenseMS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be a plus)Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustPreferred QualificationsMinimum of 15 years of project management experience, preferably in the Pacific regionState of Hawai‘i Professional Engineer (PE) license preferredExtensive experience managing electrical engineering design projects for federal agenciesStrong technical background in electrical engineering design, including calculations, specifications, and construction documentationFamiliarity with Unified Facilities Criteria UFCExcellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent schedulesCompensation and BenefitsHonolulu, Hawaii: $136,269 - $194,670Other Locations include: United States-Arizona-Phoenix, United States-California-Los Angeles, United States-Nevada-Reno, United States-Arizona-Tucson, United States-Nevada-Las Vegas, United States-California-Walnut Creek, United States-California-Folsom, United States-California-San Diego, United States-New Mexico-Albuquerque, United States-California-Irvine, United States-California-SacramentoIndustry: PowerSchedule: Full-timeEmployee Status: RegularBusinessClass: Federal Project ManagementJob Posting: Aug 5, 2025At HDR, we are committed to the principles of employment equity.
