OverviewJob Title: Manager- Packaging EngineeringBrand: Urban DecayLocation: El Segundo, CaliforniaA Day in the Life: This role reports to the Director of Technical Packaging. As Manager, Packaging Engineering for Urban Decay, you will be a key member of a small, highly collaborative team of three. You will be at the forefront of packaging innovation for Urban Decay, working closely with marketing, innovation, operations, and various other teams to deliver cutting-edge packaging solutions. You will be responsible for managing and influencing all aspects of packaging engineering, from initial concept to final production, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to quality standards. This includes managing supplier relationships, overseeing tooling development, and troubleshooting technical issues across the entire supply chain. You will also play a key role in driving sustainability initiatives and implementing process improvements.ResponsibilitiesPackaging Design & Development: Manage and influence packaging design from concept to cost, ensuring designs are technically feasible and meet brand requirements. This includes defining specifications, engineering technical conceptions, and optimizing designs for manufacturability.Supplier Management: Influence supplier selection based on technical capabilities and overall business considerations. Manage supplier relationships, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.Tooling & Validation: Manage the development of new tooling, approve technical drawings, and oversee part validation. Ensure all technical milestones are met within project timelines.Quality & Compliance: Own packaging specifications and ensure on-time technical validations. Troubleshoot technical issues across the supply chain, support solutions for consumer complaints and non-conformities, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
