Job Description: Who You’ll Work With: You will join one of our 45 US offices, be part of a dedicated team of over 1500 professionals, and work directly with clients on impactful projects. As a Controls Engineer at Design Group, you will be part of a leading industry team, recognized as a top system integrator and Rockwell Platinum Partner. You will learn from industry experts and may participate in industry events like the Ignition Build-A-Thon, which we won in 2023. In this role, you will collaborate with experts to solve complex problems for premier companies, supporting our Control System Integration Practice with quality and consistency. What You’ll Do: Design automation control systems, develop project specifications, documentation, and drawings for various manufacturing processes. Participate in automation project phases including software configuration, testing, commissioning, installation, and start-up. Lead project execution, including team leadership, SCADA design, PLC and HMI programming, and site start-up support. Maintain and grow client relationships. Troubleshoot packaging lines, process systems, and software systems. Manage multiple project responsibilities with minimal supervision. Contribute your skills daily to strengthen client and team relationships. What You’ll Bring: At least seven years of automation experience with HMI, SCADA, PLCs, and control system design. Experience in packaging and process controls within consumer products, life sciences, or food industries (preferred). Proficiency with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks. Experience with FactoryTalk, Wonderware, VisualBasic/C#/Java (preferred). Engineering consulting experience (preferred). Strong client interaction skills. Excellent troubleshooting, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Willingness to travel for project needs, including installation and start-up activities. Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical engineering, or related field (preferred).
