Skyryse One, our first production aircraft powered by SkyOS, was unveiled in 2024 and features the simplest, safest, and most intuitive flight controls in general aviation.As a Deputy Chief Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of aircraft control systems and aviation safety. This role will involve designing, developing, and optimizing the fly-by-wire systems that power our next-generation aircraft. You will work directly with the Chief Engineer and VP of Engineering to ensure our R66 fly-by-wire system is at the forefront of innovation and safety. You will create and execute technology modernization initiatives by working closely with business and technology leadership on strategy, execution, and most significantly achieving our goal of certification of SkyOS on our flagship R66 program. ResponsibilitiesWork with cross functional teams, including software and hardware disciplines as well as program management, to support development, qualification, and certification.Develop and maintain the architectural vision for fly-by-wire systems, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and reliability requirementsCollaborate with stakeholders to understand and document system requirements, and translate them into technical specificationsIdentify potential risks and challenges in the system design, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure safety & reliabilityOversee the testing and validation of fly-by-wire systems, ensuring they meet regulatory standards and performance benchmarks Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related fieldExperience with fly-by-wire flight control systems design10+ years of professional working experience in a full cycle engineering roleExperience with applicable aviation certification requirementsExperience with component level qualification for aerospace applications Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field15+ years of professional working experience in a full cycle engineering roleExperience with rotorcraft design and verification Why Skyryse?The opportunity to change the world through improving aviation safety and accessibilityValuable stock option planHeavily subsidized medical, dental and vision plansFull-time employees are eligible for 20 days of paid time off (PTO) and 5 sick days annually.
