We are the leaders in the most exciting industry in the world!Our automation and control solutions for homes and buildings allow our clients to control entire environments with the push of a button, integrating systems such as Audio Visual, Lighting, Shading, Security, Building Management Systems and HVAC to provide greater comfort, convenience and security.The Test Engineering Manager position at Crestron encompasses a Subject Matter Expert role in the management cycle of production test systems used in our electronics manufacturing facilities. This role is responsible for providing direction to test engineering teams creating complex test plans or test software, designing test equipment, selecting and procuring instrumentation, developing fixtures, supervising the assembly of test systems, implementing automation, writing procedures, and deployment/sustaining support. The ability to lead and organize groups of engineers and technicians for the successful completion of test projects is essential. Test engineering managers also play a key role guiding teams in determining appropriate test strategies and test solutions to verify product hardware functionality based on DFT principles.ResponsibilitiesUse defined methods to create goals and objectives by which to determine individual and team results (i.e. operational metrics, results against project timelines, training documentation, attendance records, knowledge of operational roles and responsibilities, personal development goals)Solicit ongoing feedback from manufacturing functional areas directors, engineering personnel, managers, peers and other manufacturing members in regards of team member’s contribution with their test services and solutionsLead the development of production test systems for Crestron’s product lines on areas of responsibilityCollaborate in the creation of test strategies, test procedures, test platforms and test specificationsDrive continuous improvement on design quality of delivered test solutions through trend reporting analysis and metrics management.Work closely with design engineering to test and debug product features during new product introductionUse DFT principles to develop sound test strategies for production test at both board and system levelsBe a point of escalation for technical issues that occur in productionEnsure direct and indirect reports adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this positionQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, EE masters, CS masters or MBA preferredAt least 7 or more years’ experience in a test engineering or similar engineering role with a minimum of 3 in a management role. Also 7 or more years’ experience in test software development or equivalent for a Framework position including the 3 years’ experience in a management role.Proven problem resolution and technical decision-making skillsKnowledge of LabView, Test Stand, C, C++ or other programming languages for test managers and expert level for Framework managers.Advanced knowledge in test automation including but not limited to instruments control and systems integrationAdvanced knowledge in test including but not limited to instruments control, fixturing development and systems integrationExcellent written and oral communicationAbility to manage highly skilled engineering teams in a collaborative team environmentOther Duties as assignedOccasional lifting of test fixtures up to 30 poundsAlso travel up to 15% may be requiredEligibility and Equal OpportunityMust be eligible to work in the US without sponsorshipCrestron Electronics offers a competitive total compensation package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short Term Disability, 401K with company match, Paid Time Off, Holidays, On-site Amenities at NJ Headquarters & TX Facilities, Crestron Market Cafes, and Fitness Centers.At Crestron Electronics, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion drive innovation.
