OverviewThe Clinical Engineering Manager provides day-to-day communication support to the Director of Biomedical Engineering and is responsible for managing the clinical engineering activities within the department. Specifically, the position has responsibility for equipment planning for projects, project coordination, equipment evaluation, medical equipment management program development and maintenance system management, and the safety management associated with regulatory investigations, incident follow up, cybersecurity assurance, and recall investigations. The work will center on the value that the Biomedical Engineering department brings to the advancement and safety of medical device technology. Additionally, this position will work directly with the biomedical equipment technician team to coordinate projects as well as communicate with enterprise leadership on the status of all projects. This position will lead a small team of clinical engineers who will assist in supporting these goals and objectives.Base pay range$93,974.40/yr - $156,603.20/yrLocationPrimary Location: District of Columbia-WashingtonWork Locations: CN Hospital (Main Campus)Employment typeFull-timeSeniority levelMid-Senior levelJob functionEngineering and Information TechnologyIndustriesHospitals and Health CareWork Schedule8:00am - 4:30pmQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Biomedical or Electrical Engineering (Required)Master's Degree (Preferred)Minimum Work Experience5+ years of experience; previous experience as a clinical engineer is necessary.Functional AccountabilitiesCommunications, Strategic Planning & Project ManagementDevelop and execute communications strategy for managing projects.Maintain the hospital capital lifecycle plan and recommendations.Maintain a file system documenting all project initiatives and ongoing utilization.Technology ManagementCollaborate with all departments to understand the needs for medical equipment.Maintain a working knowledge of medical equipment and device technology to keep the hospital on the cutting edge.Participate as a member on project teams related to new construction and space planning to ensure technology needs are addressed.System ManagementMaintain a process to ensure that technology systems have a support structure in place, address alerts when technology is not functioning, and plan for technology growth to reduce risk of loss of technology.Manage the cybersecurity associated with medical devices to reduce device-related risks.Work with Biomedical Equipment Technicians and the Director to develop processes for responding to system issues and supporting day-to-day operations.Safety ManagementOversee and manage the computerized maintenance management system to ensure medical devices are inventoried and receive necessary maintenance.Follow up on incident investigations to understand issues and implement corrective actions.Manage recalls and alerts of medical devices to ensure timely follow-up and reduce risk to patient or staff safety. #J-18808-Ljbffr
