OverviewAIM is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic Instructor to deliver engaging and comprehensive instruction in assigned courses, ensuring students grasp theoretical concepts and practical applications in aircraft maintenance. The instructor also manages administrative tasks, such as maintaining records, assessing student performance, and collaborating with faculty to enhance the curriculum. The role is pivotal in fostering a supportive learning environment that promotes student success and prepares graduates for careers in aviation maintenance.Position HighlightsTraining tomorrow/'s technicians to become skilled, employable and essential. The organization values diversity, inclusion, and professional development.ResponsibilitiesProvide engaging and effective teaching in aircraft maintenance principles and develop curricula aligned with industry standards.Create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and provides individualized support to enhance learning.Oversee administrative responsibilities, including maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.Teach classes on a scheduled basis, fostering an inclusive environment and enhancing student engagement.Collaborate with the Program Coordinator, Campus Director of Education, and Campus Executive Director to develop and refine curriculum, prepare course materials, and schedule classes.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom and laboratory environment; ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained.Establish and maintain accurate academic and attendance records; submit attendance, grades, evaluations, and other documentation as required.Notify supervisors of current or potential issues and implement retention techniques to support student plete performance-based teacher education modules, participate in classroom observations and instructor evaluations, and respond to student feedback to improve instruction.Attend and/or lead in-service trainings, faculty meetings, and other mandatory sessions to support professional development and collaboration.Assist in managing inventory of department equipment and supplies; submit replenishment requests as needed.Monitor student attendance and address absences to support plete other tasks and projects as assigned by the Supervisor to support the aircraft maintenance program.QualificationsFAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic CertificateMinimum three (3) years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience (with consideration for more diverse backgrounds)High School Diploma or GEDStrong theoretical and practical knowledge of aircraft maintenance; commitment to ongoing professional developmentAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, compliance-oriented educational settingDetail-oriented, analytical, organized, and able to multitask under pressureHigh integrity, strong work ethic, and professional demeanorEffective verbal and written communication with a focus on customer service in an educational contextMotivated, goal-oriented, and capable of problem-solving; able to work independently and in a teamProficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams)Flexible and willing to work outside scheduled hours as neededPreferred QualificationsAssociate’s degree in a related fieldCampusNexus experienceWork ScheduleApplicants will be considered for one of the following schedules:Option 1: Monday - Thursday: 7:00 am - 5:00 pm; Friday: OFFOption 2: Monday - Thursday: 1:30 pm - 11:30 pm; Friday: OFFWhat We OfferEarn up to $40 per hour plus a $5,000 sign-on bonus, based on experience and qualifications.
