In this role, you will oversee all stages of development, from requirements and design, through implementation and verification, to continuing engineering and customer support. X-ES provides the opportunity to work in a high-tech environment where creative, analytical, and critical thinking is encouraged and rewarded.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide technical leadership and direction for hardware engineering teamsManage product development, innovation, and hardware engineering systemsEnsure rigorous design reviews, technical audits, and compliance with customer specifications and contract scopeDrive strategic initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to organizational leadershipLead team development, foster an empowered culture, and drive continuous improvement in engineering processesRequired QualificationsFive or more (5+) years of engineering management experience with 13 years total in engineering (preferred)Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering fieldProven ability to manage engineering project development for customer-driven products as well as internally driven technology research and development projectsDeep understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principlesExpertise in the oversight and optimization of engineering design tools including schematic capture, PCB design, drafting, 3D modeling, thermal management, and other related toolsKnowledge of hardware development tools and methods (EDA, CAD)Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and solve complex problemsCapable of mentoring and/or developing talentComputer proficiency and a high level of organization with strong attention to detailAbility to work efficiently and independentlyAbility to work onsite from our facility located at 9901 Silicon Prairie Parkway in Verona, WIDesired QualificationsExperience with embedded products form factors (VPX, COM Express, SOSA, VME, cPCI, ATCA)Familiarity with military requirements (MIL-STD 810, 461, 464, 704, 1275, DO-160, 178)Experience with product qualification (Shock/Vibe, Temp, Humidity, Altitude, EMI/EMC)Experience with embedded technologies (CPU, FPGA, Network, SSD, DDR, XMC, TPM, IPMC)Compensation and BenefitsExtreme Engineering Solutions offers a competitive compensation package with excellent benefits, including:No-deductible, low-copay group health and dental insurance (90% employer paid)Health and wellness benefits coverage eligibility begins on the first of the month following your start dateLife insurance and long-term disability insurance (100% employer paid)Paid time off, plus eight paid holidays a year401(k) employer match up to 4%, subject to plan terms & waiting periods (Roth option is available)Participation in the 100% employee-owned Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) at no cost to employeesX-ES also takes a casual, small-business approach to company culture.
