Our Operations Team is seeking an on-site Manufacturing Test Engineer. You would be responsible for ensuring that all manufacturing test processes are reliable, efficient, and scalable to produce high-quality products that meet customer expectations.This role bridges Engineering and Operations by developing, implementing, and maintaining test systems that verify product performance and design intent. Key success factors include seamless integration of test systems into production, alignment with quality standards, and driving continuous improvement. The Manufacturing Test Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to support NPIs, monitor and optimize test performance, and provide data-driven feedback to stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesResponsible and accountable for the preparation of production test plans for all products.Define the scope of tests within the context of each production line, acquiring targeted test coverage based on product quality requirements including automation where required.Select and integrate test instruments for test stations.Develop and maintain test systems to ensure product specifications and customer requirements are met.Deploy and monitor production test equipment for optimal functionality, calibration, and uptime.Facilitate NPIs by creating and validating test plans, test scripts, and Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs).Analyze test data and identify trends to improve test accuracy, efficiency, and throughput while maintaining quality.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and optimize production workflows, including test coverage and integration.Train and support production staff on test systems, procedures, and troubleshooting to ensure seamless operations.Ensure compliance with quality standards, including ISO9001 and other regulatory requirements, and maintain proper documentation for all testing procedures.Conduct root cause analysis for recurring test failures and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.Drive continuous improvement efforts in testing processes, contributing to cost optimization and increased reliability.Participate in design reviews with development and manufacturing engineers to influence design decisions for testability, reliability, repeatability, quality and production throughput targets.Develop manufacturing process flow diagrams, FMECAs, process characterizations and validation protocols/reports.Research and develop potential production technologies that could be applied to improve throughput, quality or costs.Perform other duties as assigned and develop relationships with team members built on trust and respect.Willing to travel about 15% of the time.Education And Work ExperienceBachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent field of study.A minimum of five (5) years of experience developing test tools & processes in a low to medium volume high-tech electronics production test environment.SkillsTechnical ExpertiseStrong knowledge of RF and wireless communication technologies (examples: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 5G, LTE), and spectrum analysis.Strong knowledge of data networks and network structure.Proficiency with test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and other RF tools.Experience in programming and scripting for test automation (e.g., Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, or C++).Understanding of PCB testing, embedded systems, and firmware debugging.Process Development and OptimizationExperience with test development, including automated test systems and reducing test cycle times.Familiarity with statistical analysis and tools for monitoring test trends (e.g., statistical process control).Manufacturing KnowledgeKnowledge of mass production scaling and integration of test systems into manufacturing workflows.Experience with calibration and maintenance of test fixtures and equipment.Demonstrates analytical and problem-solving skills.Demonstrates strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.Strong initiative, proactive work ethic and prioritization skills.Trustworthy judgment and analytical problem-solving skills.Effective execution and decision making.Champion of change and promotes innovation.Physical DemandsAble to frequently sit, stand, walk, use hands to fingers, handle or feel, reach within hands and arm's length, stoop, kneel, and crouch, talk and hear.Regularly required to sit for extended periods; frequently required to use office equipment.Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Additional RequirementsU.S. CitizenshipNote: Many of TrellisWare's positions require a security clearance or the ability to obtain one. The posted pay range is for the San Diego, CA area.
