Over the next three to five years, SCOUT aspires to be a national lifestyle brand which will be driven by thoughtful direct-to-consumer growth and strategic wholesale distribution expansion to meet the customer where she is in the marketplace.About the Role:We’re looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Sourcing & Production Manager to lead sourcing strategies, manage overseas production, and oversee vendor relationships. This role ensures quality, cost targets, and timelines are met each season while supporting product development and merchandising. The ideal candidate has deep experience in accessories manufacturing, a strong vendor network, knowledge of sewing/construction, and the ability to lead costing and compliance conversations confidently.SourcingResearch, evaluate, and onboard new factory partners, materials suppliers, and vendorsDevelop and implement sourcing strategies by category (e.g., fabric, packaging, hardware) that meet pricing, quality, and sustainability standardsMaintain vendor tracking logs, calendars, and documentation to ensure transparency and alignmentBuild strong, long-term relationships with key partners; coordinate virtual or in-person site visits when neededEstablish development packages and standards for new factories and partnersProduction & CostingLead seasonal costing efforts including pre-costing, BOM (bill of materials), and margin trackingMaintain and monitor product cost logs and communicate margin impact across teamsOversee the creation and review of bulk tech packs, prototypes, pre-production samples, and final products to ensure alignment with SCOUT quality standardsManage the issuance of seasonal POs and tracking of goods from order to deliveryBuild and update seasonal buy sheets for planning and inventory teamsReview and act on 3rd-party inspection reports and damage data to improve product outcomesCross-Functional PartnershipCollaborate closely with Product Development, Design, Content, and Planning teams throughout the seasonal processHelp manage product lifecycle and coordinate seasonal packaging, labeling, and compliance needsParticipate in strategic planning meetings and help drive cross-functional communication regarding timelines, exceptions, and seasonal risksTroubleshoot production or vendor-related issues and provide solutions in real timeRequirements5+ years of experience in sourcing, production, or product operations—preferably in accessories, bags, or apparelStrong understanding of overseas manufacturing, vendor negotiation, costing, and quality controlProficiency in Microsoft Excel required; experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems preferredBachelor's degree or equivalent hands-on experience in production or sourcingExcellent written and verbal communication skills; confident presenting updates and vendor insights to leadershipAbility to lift sample boxes up to 25 lbs and travel internationally up to 3 times per yearStrong project management, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing deadlines across seasonsHybrid work schedule (based in DC) with occasional evening meetings for overseas callsUp to 20% travel, including international tripsWhat You’ll Get from SCOUT:Competitive compensation and bonus planMedical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) with company matchSeasonal SCOUT merchandise credit + employee discountHalf-day Fridays year-roundA bright, supportive, and collaborative cultureSCOUT Core Values:We’re looking for someone who embodies the values that define us:Kind, Authentic, Adaptable, Giving, Committed, and CreativeSCOUT is an Equal Opportunity EmployerWe are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees and applicants regardless of race, gender, identity, religion, ability, or background. #J-18808-Ljbffr
