Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Description:Oversee all engineering activities supporting Miniat Holdings LLC’s future vision, growth, and strategic initiatives. Key responsibilities include setting goals and objectives for the engineering department, managing a multidisciplinary engineering team (manufacturing, chemical, electrical, and controls engineers), leading project management efforts, overseeing capital budgets, and ensuring compliance with regulatory programs.Primary Responsibilities:Develop and execute engineering standards, including best practices across the organizationEvaluate existing processes and recommend opportunistic improvements, including cost reduction recommendationsResearch new technologies and manufacturing opportunities for improvement optimization of our processes and support infrastructureGuide the leadership and development of the engineering team, managing the talent and personal development for sustainable growth including bench strengthDevelop, organize, and execute the Capital Management Plan, overseeing project development, design, and implementation for multiple plants with budgets of $2.5 million or moreDirect training methods and technical leadership to staff and stakeholders regarding equipment operations, standards, safety and maintenanceServe as the company Subject Matter Expert (SME) and ensure compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulationsSupport engineering expertise on equipment consistent with meat and oil industry processes; further support of mechanical systems to include refrigeration, boilers, and building systemsLead to ensure a safe and healthy work environment through compliance with standards, code enforcement and meeting regulatory and legal requirementsCollaborates with Plant Management and senior management in establishing and managing capital budgetsPrepares layouts and project presentations for all potential capital projectsAdministration and management of the Capital Planning ProcessCollaborate with Finance and plant teams to develop tools, tracking systems, and processes for managing short- and long-term capital plans and monitoring progressPresent to Executive Leadership Team and BoardActively participates in food safety programs that ensure the safety of ingredients and finished productsServe as a subject matter expert and resource for EHS-related activities, including compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and agenciesLead and support continuous improvement projects and investments focused on human and food safety, quality, cost efficiency, and sustainabilityPerform other duties as assignedManagement Responsibilities:Manage and direct personnel in the engineering group for cooked meat and oils facilitiesResolve issues arising from internal stakeholders; coordination, prioritization and deliverablesDriving the continuing education of staff through professional organizations, trade associations and professional networkSupervise department costs, personnel and methodsResponsible for hiring and firing of personnelEstablish standard of performance and ensure that organizational policies are carried outParticipate in the Performance Management ProcessOversee the administration of timecards and approval of time off requestsRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical, Manufacturing or Process EngineeringEight - ten years’ leadership experience managing an engineering department in a food manufacturing environmentBroad knowledge of food industry experience to include sanitary design for equipment and facilities, process controls, P&ID’s, and regulatory expectations conducive to operating industriesDemonstrated success leading complex projects with proven resultsSelf-Starter with Strong leadership qualities, business acumen, decision making and analytical skillsExceptional written and verbal communication skills with clear conveyance for information at all levels of the organizationProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, software specific to engineering technology and AutoCADPreferences:Meat industry experienceOil refining processesExperience managing a multi-discipline engineering group (Chemical, Mechanical, and Electrical Controls Engineers)Willing to travel up to 50 % to support the completion of the Carrollton Expansion project for the next three years.Willing to travel up to 25% to support Carrollton and South Chicago Plant operations once expansion project petencies:Initiative: Self-starter, plans and coordinates for short and long-term expectations, takes actions to resolve and deliverTeamwork: Organization, communication with concise direction, supports D2S and D2X culture, Promotes relationshipsResults Oriented: Focused on introducing improvements and setting higher level goals that transform business resultsProject Management: Assures successful project completion by establishing a systematic course of action for self and other members of the project team;
