SB Energy also utilizes its strong culture of innovation to identify and incorporate new technology into our projects, including our AI-based digital platform, to deliver renewable energy that is local, reliable, and matched to e join us in accelerating the energy transition to cleaner, more sustainable sources of power!Title: Sr. Electrical EngineerBasic Function:As a part of the Engineering team, the Sr. Electrical Engineer will provide subject matter expertise on Electrical Engineering design (LV, MV, and HV), final engineering, and construction permitting of utility-scale solar, energy storage, and data center projects. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that all electrical designs are optimized for efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry standards.Responsibilities:Create and manage Electrical Engineering design standards to set requirements for quality, presentation standards, and cost-effectivenessPerform project design reviews at specific milestones throughout the final design process and coordinating other internal reviews and approvals by key stakeholders, as neededReview medium voltage collection systems (MVac/MVdc), interconnection, and substation system designs (HVac/HVdc)Optimize project designs by drawing upon knowledge of MV collection, transformers, switching, relaying, back-up power, and substation design including best practices, specifications, cost, efficiency, code compliance, performance, and reliabilityReview and evaluate RFI, RFP, and RFQ submittals.Provide technical review and guidance on equipment selection and approved vendor listSupport O&M team with technical knowledge and troubleshootingDesign and manage the data center white space, including rack layout, hot/cold containment, network infrastructure, branch circuit distribution, power requirements, cable pathways, and projected build phases.Collaborate with colo providers and internal stakeholders to deliver project design criteria and develop Basis of Design.Participate in the development of data center facilities requirements documentation.Research and evaluate new designs, materials, and construction methods for data center electrical and mechanical equipment and related components.Participate in project coordination meetings and clearly communicate necessary or recommended updates to project scheduling.Qualifications/Requirements:Minimum of 5 years of professional experience working in Electrical Engineering for Utility-scale solar and storage power plantsBSEE specializing in Power Systems from ABET-accredited University, MS a plus, PE license a plusDemonstrated strong engineering, design, and communication skills, and an ability to work in a dynamic team environment to think outside the box and solve traditional problems in new waysIn-depth knowledge of MV collection, transmission line, Converters, and HVAC/HVDC substation design including substation Protection & Control, SCADA, and TelecommunicationsProficient in creating drawings using AutoCAD and Visio.Experienced in the design of On-Site Renewable Energy Generation, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Renewable Energy Credits (RECs), Microgrids, and Energy Storage.Skilled in designing backup power solutions with varying redundancy levels based on data center load criticality.Ability to complete work independently and handle most unique situations autonomously.Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and work effectively in a team environment.Strong knowledge of data center/critical environment electrical and mechanical infrastructure.Experience in designing, integrating, and managing SCADA systems, as well as strong knowledge of network infrastructure within data centers to ensure efficient and secure operationsExperience in vendor managementExpertise in cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.Understanding of industrial/commercial electrical one-linesExperience with BMS/EPMS control systems and data collection/trending.Experience in developing MOPs/SOPs/EOPs for carrying out systems operations.Knowledge of data center PUE and its derivation as well as data center's redundancy requirements at the network and power levelsExperience with data center mechanical design is a plus.Proficient in reading and comprehending blueprints and building documentation.Proven problem-solving skills.Travel Requirements : The position requires up to 20% domestic and international travels.Base Pay-110000-140000The pay range mentioned above is a guideline.
