Sanmina Corporation has facilities strategically located in key regions throughout the world.Job PurposeThe component engineer plays a crucial role in the electronic supply chain ensuring the quality, reliability and performance of semiconductor electronic components, integrated circuits, passives and electromechanical components used in products. Additionally as the supply chain matures, this role will play a critical role in helping refine the supply chain to key supplier partners that share the product's vision and exit non-performing suppliers. This role is part of the component Supply Chain Management (SCM) organization. This position is a bridge between Electronic Design Engineers, Product Lifecycle Management Administrators, Supply Chain Managers and Supplier Industrialization Engineers. JobNature Of Duties/ResponsibilitiesSupport PCBA EE component selection, crosses and qualification to make sure that they meet the product design specifications and commercial requirements.Support the engineering design, assembly, and testing of quantum computing prototype subsystems and full-stack systems.Manage the Approved Component List in compliance with the Approved Vendor List defined by the SCM organizationBridge between design engineering and supply chain by influencing engineering component selection to be in alignment with SCM strategyIntegrate multidisciplinary components, including cryogenic systems, RF/microwave electronics, superconducting circuits, photonics, and custom PCBs.Assist Design Engineers in selecting, qualifying, approving and documenting release of new components on PLM system.Manage Engineering Change Orders and Change Actions to document all changes to components at Customer Part Number, Manufacturing Part Number and Bill of Materials levelMaintain detailed CAD models, schematics, BOMs, and assembly documentation.For custom products, partner with SCMs and Engineers to develop Product RequirementsDocument and lead the activity to communize specs/footprint across multiple suppliers during the Request for Proposal process with the aim of Customer owning specifications for a custom product tailored to Customer needs.Enable multi-sourcing for critical componentsWork closely with supply chain and external vendors to source specialized components with challenging lead times.Develop and drive "plan for every part" strategy for SCM team when exiting suppliers to ensure all golden components and dependencies are removed from the existing supply chain (NewProduct Design, sustaining and service) prior to official exit/banSupport DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) feedback early in the design cycle.Manage product Change Notifications and End of Life approvalsDevelop checklist / process and ensure appropriate checks are implemented when any changes in manufacturing process/materials/tests are proposed by the supplierIdentify and surface opportunities for value engineering and proactively push for ProductChange Request that would benefit PsiQ's cost structure or qualityEducation And ExperienceBachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field.Master’s degree is a plus.8+ years of components engineering experience in advanced hardware development(semiconductors, high-precision electronics, photonics, or similar).Hands-on expertise with prototyping in highly specialized technical environments.Experience with precision measurement tools, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, andRF/microwave test equipment.Strong understanding of DFM/DFA principles and tolerance analysisSolid understanding of productive process capacity and Lean methodologies.Ideal candidate must have strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills.Excellent Agile, Arena, or related product development software.Problem Solving: Creative, data-driven approach to resolving technical challenges in unchartedterritory with relentless attention to detail for ultra-high-reliability hardware.Ability to partner effectively with scientists and engineers from diverse technical backgrounds.Sanmina is an Equal Opportunity EmployerSalary Range(annual): $100,000 - $135,000Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package.
