With the power of many curious minds, together we can continue to solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.Role description:Arcadis is looking to hire a Fire Protection Engineer to support the Places Design & Engineering group. The ideal candidate would be an experienced Fire Protection Engineer with extensive experience in facility design. In this role, you will work directly with other Fire Protection Engineers, Mechanical and or Electrical Engineers, Architects, and clients on a range of facility design projects, including Federal projects. You will lead the fire protection discipline of multiple and concurrent projects through the pursuit, proposal, design, and construction phases. The ideal candidate will have their FPE license in a USA State.If this is your next role, please apply today with your resume and a brief project list.Role accountabilities:Lead design teams and mentor junior staff to develop construction-ready design packages of drawings and specifications with inter-disciplinary coordination. The successful candidate will have an advanced technical understanding of fire alarm and suppression systems, smoke control, and other related equipment and technologies associated with this specializationDeep knowledge of life safety codesKnowledge of industry standards, building codes, and safety standards such as NFPA, NEC, NESC, UL, etc.Develop budgets, proposals, schedules, project and staffing plans, as well as identify, qualify, and pursue potential clients and project opportunitiesFluency in design and modeling software that includes Revit (must have), BIM, Autodesk Construction Cloud, AutoCAD, HydraCAD, Navisworks, etc.Travel to project sites for fire protection site surveys, data collection for fire protection studies, and collaboration with client team membersSkilled in designing fire protection systems in heavy industrial, commercial, manufacturing, and processing facilities. Like: water and wastewater treatment sites, EV assembly plants, lithium-ion battery plants, and data centers, etc.Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor of Science (BS) in mechanical or fire protection engineering with at least 9 years of experience in consulting engineering and performing facility designFire Protection Professional Engineering Licensure in the United States (must have)Extensive experience producing IFC design packages for federal agency facilities (nice to have)Strong communication skills related to presentations, project communications, and written documentsLooking for a candidate who can build positive relationships with internal and external team members.
