For more information about our industry leading brands and products visit or connect on LinkedIn.POSITION SUMMARY:The Senior Design Engineer will perform a variety of engineering work in planning and design of products and design custom options to meet specific customer needs.KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Use framework of established standard products and significant/complex unique/non-standard product optionsProcess production engineering orders (high complexity)Address production order issuesResolve and process production engineering change ordersProcess ECR'sAssess and disposition recommendation for deviationsSupport special projectsPrepare concept layoutsPrepare component drawingsPrepare sub-assembly drawingsSet up BOM'sConduct body layout tolerance studiesSolve/resolve complex problems and engineering challenges independentlyTest resultsPrepare reportsOther duties as assignedEXPERTISE REQUIRED / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:BS in EngineeringIn-Depth knowledge of automotive design elementsIn-depth knowledge of automotive manufacturing processIn-depth knowledge of automotive regulatory requirementsProficient use of automotive design tools/systemsWorking knowledge/use of design principles such as Data Analysis, DOE, GD&T, FMEA, DFM/DFAMust possess mechanical aptitude and design efficiencyAbility to “work with team" and engage work "hands-on"Proficient with drafting/design related computer software (2D and 3D)Product knowledge developed across various (width and depth)LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY:Independently perform assignmentsOperate with appreciable latitude for unreview action and decision makingMay provide guidance/direction to lower level engineers/designersMay work tasks/jobs tied to strategic objectivesKEY COMPETENCIES: Competency TitleCompetency DefinitionCommunicationExpresses oneself effectively both orally and in written form.
