OverviewCome join Lockheed Martin Space’s Sensing Systems Analysis Team! You will leave key imprints on our critical national security products through detailing operational concepts and coordinating with external interfaces. You will guide design trades, track implementation evolution, and provide documentation that serves as multi-party agreements to ensure our space vehicles perform to and exceed their missions and keep us safe.We are seeking a versatile mid-career engineer with success and passion in tackling design and complex system integration issues in hardware, software, and/or operational space. The ideal candidate enjoys choreographing mission profiles filled with precise, tightly coupled and constrained activities. They are curious, goal-oriented, and enjoy solving puzzles, gathering existing pieces and creating missing ones, and are fearless of being wrong with confidence to course-correct and find solutions quickly.You will be exposed to a variety of technical problems and will be challenged to solve them through coupled constraints and conflicting conditions, while communicating findings clearly and defending recommendations. You will be supported by a collaborative team and experienced professionals who help bring our products to reality. We are looking to invest in the career of someone who is mission-focused, motivated, and possesses the skills, intelligence, attitude, teamwork, and perseverance to innovate our product line into the future.ResponsibilitiesAs a Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and Mission Integration Engineer, use best practice Model Based Systems Engineering tools to develop the CONOPS for a complex satellite from evolving constraints and capabilities.Engage with counterparts to surface assumptions, achieve mutual understanding, and negotiate agreements across interfaces external to the system.Articulate the rationales driving end results clearly enough to serve as an authoritative reference.Practice judgment and initiative to solve issues with long-term consequential impacts.Generate reference products effectively and clearly to target different user communities (e.g., designers, test planning, data exchange, operators).Own requirements from mission-level functional performance to applicable lower-level specifications; provide verification narrative and evidence.Basic QualificationsExperience with one or more Systems Engineering functions including: a) CONOPS and constraints development, b) Requirements and Interface Documentation development, c) System Integration.Advanced communicator in both verbal and written form.Excellent social skills, effective consensus builder, demonstrated team-player.US Citizenship, with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI with Poly (CI).Desired SkillsBachelor’s or higher in Engineering, Applied Science, Applied Math, or related field.Knowledge of spacecraft architecture, subsystems and components.Experience with complex, large-scale spacecraft development from design through integration and test.Experience with interface development within a System-of-Systems architecture.Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering tools (Cameo, Rhapsody, etc.).Proficiency in MATLAB or equivalent engineering software for data manipulation, analysis, and modeling.Strong presentation skills; capable of briefing diverse audiences.Active TS/SCI security clearance with an investigation in the last 5 years.Security ClearanceSecurity Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.Clearance Level: TS/SCI w/ Poly.Other Important InformationExpression of Interest: By applying to this job, you are expressing interest and may be considered for other career opportunities where similar skills and requirements have been identified as a match. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over five days, with some options for condensed schedules that provide additional time away from the office, in addition to Paid Time Off benefits.Schedule: 9x80 every other Friday off.Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For other locations, salary will reflect the candidate’s final work location.
