Our team is all-in, committed to executing our mission safely and on time.If you want to work with the most talented people on Earth furthering space exploration for humanity, come join us.Vast is looking for a Senior Design Engineer, reporting to the Senior Manager of Structures Design, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of human-rated space stations.This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location.Responsibilities:Designing vehicle structures from conceptual phase through product release and manufacture release and manufactureDefine and manage interfaces between vehicle subsystemsDevelop design process improvement via simplification or automationProvide technical assistance to integration and testing activitiesMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in engineering with 5+ years of relevant CAD/Design experience or equivalentExperience with ASME Y14.100, Y14.5, Y14.41Experience with Siemens NXPreferred Skills & Experience:Aerospace or automotive design experienceSelf-motivated with strong multi-tasking, organizational, communication and documentation skillsAbility to work well in an integrated team including daily interactions with technicians, engineers, and managersExperience designing and managing large CAD assemblies and associated drawingsDemonstrated development and configuration management experience on technically complex hardware productsKnowledge of mechanical engineering design, analysis, and manufacturingAdditional Requirements:Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestonesPay Ranges:Design Engineer I: $84,200 - $108,780Design Engineer II: $110,000 - $142,100Senior Design Engineer: $135,800 - $176,400Salary Range: California $84,200 — $176,400 USD COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Base salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand.
