Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.Base pay range$125,000.00/yr - $255,000.00/yrWe are looking for a highly analytical and technical Product Validation Engineering Manager to be a core part of our engineering team. You will be responsible for building and managing the function that ensures our engineering teams deliver on their design promises. This isn't a quality assurance role; rather, you will be the technical expert who verifies that our products meet their design specifications and you will provide invaluable data back to the design teams to help them understand and improve their work.You'll lead a small team to perform comprehensive verification across all disciplines—including embedded software, mechanical, and hardware—and use manufacturing data to close the loop on the design process. This is a role for a leader who is both a skilled manager and a hands-on individual contributor, with a passion for using data and rigorous testing to drive technical excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering Verification & Strategy: (1) Architect and manage the engineering verification strategy, defining the test plans and methodologies that confirm our products meet all design specifications. (2) Provide final approval on firmware releases, validating that the embedded software performs as designed and meets all system requirements. (3) Oversee all product verification activities, including ensuring mechanical dimensions, power consumption, and other key parameters align with engineering designsData Analysis & Design Feedback: (1) Implement and manage Statistical Process Control (SPC) using manufacturing test data to provide the engineering team with clear, data-driven insights into the performance and consistency of their designs and processes. (2) Analyze verification and manufacturing data to identify trends, potential design weaknesses, and opportunities for continuous improvementTeam Leadership & Collaboration: (1) Lead, mentor, and grow a small team of verification engineers, guiding their professional development and managing project execution. (2) Collaborate closely with all engineering teams to ensure verification plans are aligned with design goals and that test data is effectively communicated back to the teamsReporting & Customer Communication: (1) Work with engineering teams to compile comprehensive verification reports, summarizing the results of testing and analysis. (2) Act as a technical point of contact with customers, confidently discussing our verification protocols and the data we've gathered to confirm product performanceMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field7+ years of experience in product verification or validation, with a minimum of 3 years in a direct management roleStrong analytical skills and a track record of applying Statistical Process Control (SPC) to manufacturing and engineering dataProven expertise in embedded software or firmware testing, with a deep understanding of the engineering design and release cycleExceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information and data to both engineering teams and external customersPreferred SkilssDirect experience managing verification activities for a range of technical disciplines, from hardware to mechanicalExperience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, LabVIEW) for test automation and data analysisA history of working within a fast-paced engineering organization where verification and design are tightly integratedExperience with optical or telecom systemsnEye is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
