Job Description

Overview Geo-Logic Associates (GLA) is a privately-held, multidisciplinary geologic, geotechnical, hydrogeologic, civil, and environmental consulting firm with offices across the United States and an office in Peru. Established in 1991, GLA has experienced sustained growth. We are seeking an ambitious and skilled entry-level Staff Geotechnical Engineer to join the Bay Area (San Jose, CA) office. Responsibilities Perform and develop scopes for field and office tasks (technical and non-technical) and independent analysis. Safely conduct and/or oversee field exploration, sampling, inspection, analysis and technical support. Coordinate tasks on projects of various sizes with staff. Contribute to reports and calculations on projects for review. Provide quality technical support on commercial, municipal, transportation, energy and water projects. Field experience is preferred. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Minimum 1 year of Geotechnical Engineering field experience (logging of borings, test pits, mapping, slope monitoring). B.S. in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering. Knowledge of drilling operations and civil project design. Geotechnical and materials testing and inspection experience. Positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks. Laboratory soils testing knowledge. Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Drafting experience. Additional Knowledge Knowledge of soils, drilling and other field operations is preferred. Additional Requirements Working knowledge of geotechnical software and analysis programs is a plus. Position will require adherence to work assignments and schedules, be self-motivated, organized and have a keen sense of detail. Candidate must be willing to work beyond a standard 40-hour work week when needed, including out-of-town assignments. California experience preferred. Preferred Qualifications OSHA 40-hour Training EIT Candidate Must Be eligible to work in the United States.
