It requires oversight of staff to produce deliverables on schedule and applying technical knowledge to address questions and overcome challenges. The role involves close coordination with the client to ensure project goals are met, with weekly reporting to Burns project management or more frequently as required.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESBUSINESS DEVELOPMENTIdentify and develop plans to obtain follow-on work with existing clientsDevelop new clientsPrepare proposals under the direction of the Group LeaderDevelop proposal schedulesDevelop scope of services, staffing, and pricing, including Burns Terms and ConditionsMeet annual sales goalsCLIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENTCoordinate with clients through routine communication and regular visitsConfirm client requirements for projects continuallyParticipate in regular technical meetings and coordinate with other trade disciplinesReport to project leadershipPROJECT EXECUTIONEnsure all team personnel adhere to company QA/QC policies and proceduresDevelop project plans to mitigate risksEnsure proper preparation and reporting of design documents, reports, proposals, inspections, and other information required for client serviceManage schedules and ensure client deadlines are metFollow project closeout proceduresHold routine project meetings to review schedules and deliverablesDevelop recovery plans if milestones are missedRequest and receive authorization for scope changes before work beginsTEAM MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENTMotivate personnel to high performance levelsEnsure employees are adequately trained and supervisedDelegate tasks effectively and manage workloadHold employees accountable to performance standards and take corrective actions when neededDirectly oversee the technical team, including planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Expect 40-50 hour work weeks.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEBachelor's (B.S.) Engineering degree from an accredited university and 10+ years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Leadership experience on multiple projects with teams of at least 5 members.Experience managing electrical projects for transit agencies.Experience with MBTA, NJT, MTA, or WMATA is preferred but not required.CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSMust be a registered technical professional in a major technical discipline practiced by the firm.
