Process EngineerTesla Company Location San Bernardino, California, United States, CAis seeking a motivated, experienced, and knowledgeable Process Engineer to work in the Energy – Distribution & Fulfillment group for our new warehouse located in San Bernardino, CA. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably involving work with medium to high volume products. The Process Engineer will work with Warehousing Operations and IT System Development to fully understand both ends of the spectrum: operational bottlenecks and system capabilities/needs. This position will require a person that can understand the details of warehouse processes, translating those into appropriate project plans for issue resolution, and executing successfully against those plans.DescriptionRoleThe Process Engineer will be responsible for design and execution of material flow, analyzing and optimizing conveyance to support kitting, warehouse flow layouts, and processes related to launch of existing facilities for all Tesla Energy products. We are looking for a talented and highly motivated individual who can create systematic workflows to unlock efficient material flows, drive business process, high throughput capabilities and operating models throughout our organization. Successful members of the team will be highly proactive and self-sufficient in pursuing improvement projects, be able to multitask and refocus efforts immediately to meet constantly shifting demands in a fast paced environment, and have exceptional organizational skills to coordinate changes with all affected teams.QualificationsPrimary ResponsibilitiesCreate comprehensive labor and equipment model considering warehousing material flow and time studies data gatheringsFluent on Dashboard designs through SQL queries which will show the day to day Operations health and labor/ equipment utilizationFluent in Warehouse Management Systems and should be able to make impressive material flows leveraging the configuration changes fluency and AutoCAD 2DCollaborate with stakeholder teams like Warehouse Operations, IT Systems Developers, Inventory Control, Packaging Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain teams, and Material Planning to prioritize and maximize operational efficiency of the Warehouse teamUnderstand systems architecture to deploy standard processes and communicate cross-functional needsDesign and optimize material flow conveyance routes, facility layouts by analyzing bottlenecks and buffer sizes using process modelingContribute to PFEP standardization and adoption of processes through the entire value stream of material flowManage issue resolution and develop corrective actions for all process inefficiencies related but not limited to standard warehouse and kitting operations, etc.Analyze and improve material flow processes from the external network to the internal warehouses optimizing for space, cost, and inventory/service levelsDevelop business cases for improvement projects such as material handling – touch reduction, automation support etc., with a focus on workforce planning and management.Create documentation for training materials such as standard work, kitting sequences and standard operating procedureAdditional ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain material flow data/plans that includes capacity and efficiency of material movement.
