Join to apply for the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role at Peak Energy.About the Job: Peak Energy is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Energy Storage Systems (ESS) team. You will work on complex electro-mechanical designs for utility-scale sodium-ion energy storage systems. The role involves mechanical system and component design, collaborating with various teams, and being hands-on, motivated, and autonomous.Responsibilities:Own the design of Peak's High Voltage ESS mechanical systems from architecture to improvement.Define product design direction through broad and deep exploration, and communicate decisions effectively.Focus on design areas such as high voltage distribution, battery control systems, and power electronics.Develop and manage subsystem and component requirements.Collaborate with thermal, structural analysts, and other design functions for informed decisions.Drive rapid prototyping and testing culture.Support validation from concept to deployment.Ensure smooth transition from prototype to mass production.Maintain a team-oriented, proactive attitude.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering or related field.Strong fundamentals in mechanical and thermal engineering.Knowledge of power electronics and electrical fundamentals.Experience with CAD and PLM software (CATIA or NX).Familiarity with FEA/CFD and CAE practices.Experience with high voltage battery systems or power electronics design.Prototyping, validation, and testing experience.Passion for renewable energy and sustainability.Eligibility to work in the U.S.Preferred Qualifications:Over 5 years of experience with HV batteries or power electronics.Design experience for high-volume automated manufacturing.Additional Information: Salary range $150,000 - $170,000, with comprehensive benefits, including unlimited PTO, medical/dental/vision coverage, 401(k), and equity.
