The company's SuperSwitch is an ultra-low power consumption, high radix, compact chip-scale design, offering hyperscale data centers enhanced performance, efficiency, and scalability.Job Overview:As a Test Engineering Lead at nEye Systems, you will drive the strategic design, development, and execution of test procedures and systems that ensure the quality and performance of our Si photonics MEMS devices and components. In this high-impact role, you will serve as a key technical leader in test development, working closely with Si Photonics designers, System and Software Engineers, and MEMS/Process Engineers to create robust testing protocols, troubleshoot issues, and advance photonics product performance and reliability.Key Responsibilities:Test System Development: Design and develop advanced test systems and procedures for evaluating performance and reliability of photonics devices and componentsTest Automation: Develop and implement automated testing solutions to improve test efficiency, consistency, and scalabilityOptical Testing: Conduct precise optical measurements to assess parameters such as power, wavelength, and signal integrityDevice Characterization: Perform detailed characterization of photonics devices under various conditions to assess behavior and performanceData Analysis: Analyze test data, identify trends or anomalies, and generate clear reports to inform design and product decisionsTechnical Leadership: Lead test engineering initiatives, ensuring timely completion of milestones and deliverables across development and productionCross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, software, systems, and process engineering teams to understand testing requirements, support design improvements, and resolve technical challengesTroubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to test setups, instrumentation, or device performanceDocumentation: Maintain thorough documentation of test procedures, outcomes, and changes to protocolsContinuous Improvement: Drive ongoing improvements in testing methodologies and contribute to innovations in photonics test engineeringMinimum Qualifications:Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Photonics, Optics, or a related field7+ years of hands-on experience in test engineering for photonics or related hardware systemsDeep knowledge of photonics and optical testing methodologiesProven ability to lead technical projects and mentor peers or junior engineersStrong collaboration and communication skills; able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partnersProficiency with optical and electrical test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers, power meters, and network analyzersExcellent analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesPreferred Skills:Experience with the design and fabrication of MEMS structures and optoelectronic devicesFamiliarity with photonics industry standards and best practices for testingExperience with reliability testing, environmental stress screening, and failure analysisBackground in optical packaging, co-packaged optics, and hybrid bondingExperience in designing or testing devices with both micro- and nano-scale featuresBenefits & Perks:Opportunity to join a small, well-funded start-up company that is doing pioneering work in optical switchesCompetitive salary and equity package, including early-stage company stock options401kFull healthcare coverage: medical, dental, and visionFitness center accessEqual Opportunity Employer.
