The SDE reports directly to the Design Engineer Manager (DEM). The SDE will provide oversight through the design project life cycle from sales concept to design development, construction drawings to construction administration support. As the technical authority on a project team, you will be instrumental in the determination and execution of client and system requirements and will collaborate with support teams to bring Electronic Security System designs to life. Through our groundbreaking workflow, you’ll have access to incredible technology and tools to help you articulate and deliver your design while being supported by global resources.The SDE maintains a supportive role in mentoring other design engineers through the direction of the DEM and will typically be assigned the most complex systems and client needs.What will you be doing?· Subject Matter Expert for Physical Access Control, Video Surveillance, Intrusion Detection, Intercom Systems and how they typically interface with other low voltage systems and facility standard operating procedures.· Design SCIF environments in accordance with ICS-705 and UL2050 SCIF design standards for successful accreditation.· Primary contributor for complex engagements and works directly with clients and the Design Engineering team to develop specifications, designs, budgets, timelines and manage expectations.· Negotiates changes in deliverables and schedules.· May be required to regularly lead a team on large projects.· Conceptualize system designs and determine system requirements.· Provide technical expertise and coordination information to support the architecture, installation and planning of electronic security solutions.· Oversee and/or develop the Bill of Materials (BOM) and supporting documentation.· Develop detailed 30%, 60%, 90% and IFC drawings.· Research, identify, and recommend technology options for clients.· SDE will have client interaction and contribute to the P and L performance.· Project lifecycle is important and learning the standards our clients are comfortable with is just as important as selling new technology and solutions where they fit. The position bears the responsibility to develop long lasting client partnerships & work with team members to maintain the account on all levels.· Maintains expertise in the industry through ongoing review of trade publications, participation in industry trade shows, seminars, and educational forums. May author articles and/or analyze trends.· Provides direction and counsel to junior personnel in engineering projects and guides issue resolution.· Attending appropriate manufacturer trainings, attend or lead lunch and learns and continue online plexity: The SDE will work with the DEM and Sales Leadership on resource assignment and needs. This role is primarily billable in a post-sales capacity, though there are times when the SDE will work on program efforts, team management and general administration. The SDE team will work on the most complex systems, the most complex client needs and the largest projects.Physical Working Environment:Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that may be met by an employee. Work will normally be performed within normal office conditions and/or home office depending on the location of SDE. On occasions the employee may be exposed to construction site conditions. Employee will be responsible for their safety while on job sites and to comply with all safety regulations in place by the GC. Use of PPE is usually required on job sites. The employee can typically spend at least 50% of their time on their feet and be required to mobile around the construction site. The individual is regularly required to use keyboards, test equipment and controls required for SI installation projects. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth vision.Travel: Occasional travel by car and occasional airplane trips are required. Employee must possess a valid driver’s license in their state of residence. Employee will be required to use their own vehicle and will be reimbursed for mileage at the current corporate rate.What do we require from you?Education/Certifications:• Associates/Bachelor’s degree required and/or equivalent experience.• Certifications or training with in Genetec, Lenel, Avigilon and S2• PSP and/or CPP certification• PMP Certification, preferred• Other relevant certifications may be required or preferred based on the technology focus of the position.Required/Desired Knowledge, Experience and Skills:• 8+ years of experience in technical systems design - ESS (Electronic Security System)• Ability to get a government issued Top Secret Clearance (US-based only)• A clear understanding of project phases Program, Conceptualization, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, Construction and Commissioning.• Proficient in AutoCAD, BIM and MS Office 365• Familiarity of ICS-705 and UL2050 for accredited SCIF design and implementation.• A thorough, demonstrable understanding of the construction process, installation, and integration as well as architectural and construction drawings and specifications.• Detailed oriented, independent, self-starter.• Exceptional time management skills with a track record for meeting deadlines• Excellent communication skills• Ability to analyze complex issues and communicate concise succinct messages.• High level of problems solving and technical troubleshooting skillsTo learn more about becoming part of the Diversified team, visit us at or email us at is an equal employment opportunity employer and all aspects of employment will be based on job requirements, individual qualifications, merit, performance and business needs.
